What? Women have more Priesthood than men?
π️ The Oath and Covenant—Have We Misunderstood It?
“All that my Father hath shall be given unto him.”
(D&C 84:38)
That’s what we tell the young men.
That if they’re faithful, they’ll get everything the Father has.
Sounds amazing, right?
But what if we’ve only scratched the surface of what this really means?
π What Does It Mean to “Obtain” the Priesthood?
“For whoso is faithful unto the obtaining these two priesthoods… and the magnifying their calling, are sanctified by the Spirit unto the renewing of their bodies.”
(D&C 84:33)
We usually read this as: “Ordained? Check. Show up? Check.”
But does ordination equal obtaining?
Look again.
Verse 42 tells us this priesthood is confirmed not by a bishop… but by the voice of God:
“…which I now confirm upon you… by mine own voice out of the heavens.”
That lines up with JST Genesis 14:29 too:
“…delivered unto men by the calling of His own voice, according to His own will…”
This isn’t about passing an interview.
This is God speaking from heaven.
This is Him choosing you.
π Receiving Him, Not Just the Office
“And also all they who receive this priesthood receive me, saith the Lord.”
(D&C 84:35)
That doesn’t sound like a meetinghouse ordination.
That sounds like the Second Comforter.
You don’t receive the Lord through church service.
You receive Him when He comes to you.
Personally. Powerfully. Face to face.
And that changes everything.
π From the Son to the Father
“He that receiveth me receiveth my Father.”
(D&C 84:37)
This is the pattern.
First the Son. Then the Father.
This is not just doctrine—it’s invitation.
This is Calling and Election Made Sure territory.
This is Eternal Life.
π The Greatest of All the Gifts
“All that my Father hath shall be given unto him.”
(D&C 84:38)
We quote that a lot.
But we forget what comes before it:
A real relationship with Christ.
And after that, introduction to the Father.
This is the same promise as:
“…eternal life, which gift is the greatest of all the gifts of God.”
(D&C 14:7)
This isn’t a corporate ladder climb.
It’s a sacred ascent—into His presence.
⚖️ The Real Weight of the Covenant
“Whoso breaketh this covenant… shall not have forgiveness of sins in this world nor in the world to come.”
(D&C 84:41)
That’s not talking about some guy who went inactive.
That’s describing someone who:
Received the real priesthood
Received the Lord
Received the Father
…and then turned their back on it all.
That’s not just sin.
That’s the unpardonable sin.
π₯ Joseph Smith Weighs In
“He must receive the Holy Ghost, have the heavens opened unto him, and know God, and then sin against Him… You cannot save such persons… Awful is the consequence.”
(TPJS, p. 358)
This fits exactly with D&C 84.
The penalty is too high for mere inactivity.
We’re talking about someone who knew.
Who saw.
And then denied it all.
πΌ The Priesthood from Heaven
Let’s not miss verse 42 again:
“…which I now confirm upon you… by mine own voice out of the heavens.”
That’s the kind of priesthood being discussed here.
Not church-given.
Not man-given.
Heaven-given.
And that takes us back to the real invitation in verse 35:
“All they who receive this priesthood receive me…”
πΊ And What About the Women?
If the real priesthood is Heaven-given—conferred by the voice of God, not by the hand of man—then maybe we’ve missed something even bigger.
The Nemenhah Records say it plainly:
“The Daughter is born into the priesthood. For the Spirit conferreth it. But the Son must walk the path and be proven, and only then may it be conferred upon him.”
Let that settle in for a moment.
The daughters of God already walk in it—from birth—because of the Spirit that’s in them.
It’s not about keys or titles.
It’s about purity and presence.
It’s about the power to nurture life, heal the wounded, and walk in covenant from the beginning.
Meanwhile, the sons of God must rise, be sanctified, be called by His voice, and only then—if worthy—may it be granted.
So maybe, just maybe…
We’ve been handing out ordinations, while the women have quietly been holding the real thing all along.
And maybe that’s why Zion will be built by the humble, the pure, and the brokenhearted—not the boardroom or the bureaucracy.
This isn't about rearranging a hierarchy.
It’s about returning to Heaven's order.
π️ Final Thought – The Covenant of Presence
Have we spent too long teaching boys how to pass the sacrament and shake hands in a circle…
…when we should’ve been pointing them to the One who breaks bread with us at Emmaus?
This covenant—it was never about position.
It’s not about presiding or titles or checklists.
It’s about presence.
His presence.
The promise isn’t that you’ll sit in a bishop’s chair.
The promise is that you’ll sit at His table.
Not just after death.
Not just in some temple someday.
But here. Now. While the dew is still on the grass.
That’s the covenant.
And when He comes… and you receive Him…
When the Son reveals the Father…
Then all that the Father hath truly becomes yours.
Because you’ve become His.
πΊ And don’t forget the daughters.
The world has taught them to wait.
To serve quietly while men lead loudly.
But Heaven never taught that.
The Spirit whispered long ago—and still whispers now:
“The Daughter is born into the priesthood.
For the Spirit conferreth it.”
While men must be proven and chosen,
The women already walk in it—
Because their hearts were sealed to Him before they ever breathed.
They don’t need a title to testify.
They don’t need a calling to comfort.
They carry heaven in their eyes and Zion in their bones.
And maybe that’s why, in the last days,
It will be the meek, the mothers, the midwives of the Spirit—
who rise up and say, “Come. Walk with us. He is here.”
π₯ So here’s the real invitation:
This isn’t about getting ahead.
It’s about getting close.
Not about climbing a priesthood ladder…
But about kneeling until Heaven comes down and walks beside you.
And when it does?
That’s when the covenant is fulfilled.
That’s when the heavens open.
That’s when the Son says,
“Come. You are mine.”
And the Father says,
“All that I have… is yours.”
