When Jesus Shows Up are you there?
π️ When Jesus Shows Up
Walking, Winking, and Breaking Bread with God
You ever notice how Jesus sneaks up on you sometimes?
You’re just walking the fairway, muttering about your slice, and then suddenly—you feel Him smiling. Not booming. Not rebuking. Just smiling. You look around and there’s nobody but wind and sky and maybe a hawk watching. But your heart? It’s burning.
That’s what happened to those two disciples on the road to Emmaus.
They were heartbroken, confused, stuck in the grief of what they thought was the end of the story.
Then a stranger joined them.
He listened. Taught. Didn’t flash His glory.
He let them beg Him to stay.
And when He broke the bread?
Everything lit up.
Their eyes opened.
Their hearts caught fire.
And they realized they’d been walking with Jesus the whole time.
π£ Walking the Road with the Lord
This whole journey—this walk with the Lord—isn’t about titles, positions, or perfection.
It’s about learning to recognize Him in the ordinary.
In the silence.
In the wind.
In the long shadows of a sunset on the back nine.
The path isn’t marked by signs and steeples.
It’s marked by presence.
And sometimes…
He shows up playfully.
π The Savior Who Pretends to Keep Walking
Luke says Jesus acted like He was going to keep going.
He wasn’t. But He pretended.
Why?
Because He wanted them to ask Him to stay.
That’s our God. Not pushy. Not loud. Not trying to impress.
He just walks with us and waits.
Waits for us to want Him.
Waits for us to invite Him in.
π The Beach, the Boat, and the Net
There’s another story. And it’s tender, funny, and full of love.
Way back at the beginning, Peter had fished all night and caught nothing.
Jesus, still mostly unknown, told him: "Cast your net on the other side."
Peter, tired and skeptical, did it—and the net nearly broke from the haul.
He dropped to his knees.
“Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.”
Fast forward.
Jesus has died.
Risen.
And Peter…
Peter went back to fishing.
Back to what he knew.
Maybe he thought he blew it.
And again—he fished all night.
Caught nothing.
Then a voice from the shore:
“Cast the net on the right side of the boat.”
DΓ©jΓ vu.
Peter’s heart jumped.
He threw the net.
It filled again.
And he knew.
It was the Lord.
So he jumped into the water and swam to shore.
There was Jesus, already cooking fish by the fire.
No lecture.
No scolding.
Just breakfast.
And then came the real healing:
"Peter, do you love me?"
Three times.
Not to shame—
But to restore.
That whole scene?
It’s holy playfulness.
It’s memory.
It’s mercy with a twinkle in the eye.
The Lord reminded Peter, gently:
"I called you once before with a net full of fish.
I'm calling you again."
π️ He Saw You Under the Fig Tree
Jesus told Nathanael, “I saw you… before Philip called you.”
Nobody else saw.
But Jesus did.
He sees your private moments too—
your doubts, your faith, your breakdowns in the car when no one’s looking.
And He says:
“You believe because of that? Just wait…”
That’s not a rebuke. That’s a promise.
More is coming.
π¦ Moose Moments and Messy Miracles
There was a story told of a moose—sudden, majestic, perfectly timed.
It was so unlikely, it couldn’t not be God.
That’s how it works.
You’re on a walk.
Or at the sink.
Or standing in line at the hardware store.
And boom—He’s there.
Maybe not in a blaze of light.
Maybe in a laugh.
Or a song lyric.
Or that gut-deep knowing that He sees you.
π The Relationship is the Real Point
Here’s the truth:
Jesus isn’t just trying to save you. He wants to know you.
He’s not looking for rule-keepers.
He’s looking for walkers.
People who will walk with Him even when they don’t recognize Him at first.
And when you break bread with Him—whether it’s the Sacrament, a PB&J, or just a quiet moment of prayer—He shows Himself.
He doesn’t need a church building.
He needs an open heart.
⛳ Bounce of Grace
There are days when it feels like you’ve messed up the shot—bad lie, too many trees, no chance.
And somehow… the ball bounces just right.
That’s how grace works.
You mess up.
You flub it.
And God says, “Watch this.”
And there it goes:
Skip. Skip. Bounce. Onto the green.
He doesn’t just forgive.
He restores.
With flair.
π€² If You’ve Been Wondering Where He’s Gone…
Look again.
He might be the stranger on your road.
The whisper on the wind.
The quiet warmth after you prayed but didn’t hear anything.
The “coincidence” that made you laugh out loud.
He’s walking with you.
He always was.
Just like He walked with those disciples.
Just like He stood on the beach for Peter.
Just like He’ll walk with you—if you ask Him to stay.
✨ Final Thoughts
This blog isn’t about starting something new.
It’s about returning—to Him.
To the One who still walks beside us, even when we don’t see Him at first.
You don’t have to climb a ladder to reach God.
You don’t have to join another system.
You just have to wake up—right where you are—
and notice who’s been breaking the bread with you all along.
The world is loud right now. Confused. Upside down.
But if you’re quiet for a moment…
If you’re honest about what’s really going on inside you…
You might hear Him calling your name.
And when you do—
ask not what the Savior can do for you,
but what you can do for the Savior.
That’s the whole purpose here:
To see clearly.
To walk humbly.
And to know the Savior—not as a distant figure,
but as the Friend who’s been with you the whole way.
