Moroni, the Remnant, and the Restoration: Who Got It Right? A blog post for the spiritually awake and hungry

πŸ›‘️πŸ“œ Moroni, the Remnant, and the Restoration: Who Got It Right? A blog post for the spiritually awake and hungry

πŸ‘️‍πŸ—¨️ Why This Matters

Most people know Moroni as the angel who appeared to Joseph Smith. Some know him as the last Nephite. But almost no one knows what he said after he buried the plates. The Nemenhah Records tell us he didn’t just disappear. He lived. He taught. He warned. His name there is Mohrhohnahyah — the same voice, still speaking.

So what did he teach? And who still teaches like he did?

Let’s look at:

  • ✝️ Jesus Christ

  • πŸ§”‍♂️ Joseph Smith (before his death)

  • πŸ›‘️ Moroni (Book of Mormon and Nemenhah)

  • πŸ›️ The LDS Church today

🧭 Who Sounds Like Moroni?

Here’s a gentler look at what we’re noticing — not to criticize, but to gently ask: Where do the voices align?

  • Zion: Moroni speaks of a small, humble people — pure in heart and living in unity. This mirrors Jesus’ words and Joseph’s vision. The Church today teaches Zion too, but often in terms of global programs and growth.

  • Priesthood & Ordinances: Moroni emphasizes personal worthiness, community support, and spiritual gifts. Jesus freely gave power to heal and bless. Joseph restored it. Today, the Church teaches priesthood as hierarchical and conferred only by leadership.

  • Consecration & Economy: Moroni and the Savior taught no poor among them. Joseph tried to establish the Law of Consecration. The Church today emphasizes tithing and fast offerings but hasn’t fully embraced economic equality.

  • Authority: For Moroni, authority came from the Spirit — from the Peacemaker. Jesus said, “My doctrine is not mine, but His that sent me.” Joseph was led by visions and angels. The Church today centers authority in a structured hierarchy and teaches that modern prophets are the sole voice.

  • Warnings of Corruption: Moroni saw Gentiles fall into pride. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for their outward religion. Joseph warned about the Saints rejecting the fullness. The Church today often avoids talk of institutional apostasy.

  • Coming to God: Moroni testified that we can behold Christ in the flesh. Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Joseph promised the Second Comforter. The Church today teaches obedience to leaders and loyalty as the path.

This isn’t about drawing lines. It’s about recognizing which teachings bring us closer to Christ.

🌿 One Man's Witness

This isn’t an attack. It’s a plea.

Come back to the Spirit. Come out of the system. Come to the Peacemaker.

You don’t need permission. You just need courage.

Zion is stirring. Will you walk the Way?
