THE AWAKENING OF THE REMNANT -------- A True Story of a Family Who Walks with Jesus
THE AWAKENING OF THE REMNANT
A True Story of a Family Who Walks with Jesus
A PERSONAL INTRODUCTION
I’ve known this dear family for years.
They have been instrumental in my own awakening. I have been blessed by each member of their family—on several occasions, not only from the mother and father, but even from their many children.
The young children have spoken with the power of the Holy Ghost in ways that pierced my heart.
This family truly walks with Jesus. I am deeply taken and impressed with their example. They are humble, real, and full of light.
I share their story because it shows what is possible when a family chooses to live as disciples of Christ—not someday, but now.
1. A FAMILY’S AWAKENING
They were once just like so many of us—devoted, active, and confident that being part of the Lord’s church meant safety.
They believed the Book of Mormon’s warnings were aimed at “other people,” never at themselves.
But the Spirit opened their eyes.
They began to ask, “Why would Nephi, Moroni, and Jesus Himself write warnings to people who would never even read the book? These words are for us.”
That realization changed everything. Pride melted. Tears flowed. And repentance became their way of life—not just once, but every day.
Their love for the church did not fade. But their love for Christ grew so much greater that everything else became secondary.
2. A WARNING WE DIDN’T WANT TO HEAR
Nephi’s words ring out for all of us:
“Wo be unto the Gentiles… for notwithstanding I shall lengthen out mine arm unto them from day to day, they will deny me; nevertheless, I will be merciful unto them… if they will repent and come unto me.”
(2 Nephi 28:32)
For too long, we have excused ourselves, thinking, “That’s for others.”
But what if Nephi saw us—the very ones holding the book?
What if his warning is meant for us?
This family learned the hard truth: If we don’t believe Nephi is speaking to us, we are already in pride.
3. JOSEPH SMITH’S DREAM OF A CURSED FARM
On the morning of his death, Joseph Smith told of a dream:
A farm once given to him was now overgrown with weeds and brambles. Angry men claimed it, fought over it, and finally destroyed one another.
Joseph simply walked away through the mud.
The message is clear: What was once beautiful in the Lord’s work has been neglected. Pride and contention have overrun it. But God has not abandoned His work. He never does.
4. THE GENTILE REJECTION FORETOLD
The scriptures speak plainly:
π “When the Gentiles shall reject the fulness of my gospel… I will bring the fulness from among them.” (3 Nephi 16:10)
π “O ye pollutions… why have ye polluted the holy church of God?” (Mormon 8:38)
π “Upon my house shall it begin.” (D&C 112:25)
This is not written to crush us—it is written to save us. The Lord is warning those He loves most.
5. THE LOST FULNESS AND A CONDITIONAL TEMPLE
The Lord gave a sobering warning in 1841:
π “If you do not build the house unto me in the time appointed, ye shall be rejected as a church, with your dead.” (D&C 124:32)
The Nauvoo Temple was never completed in Joseph’s lifetime. The fulness of the priesthood was never restored there as the Lord required.
But this does not mean all hope is gone. It means now is the time to repent.
6. ZION WILL NOT COME BY GENERATIONAL EFFORT
Zion has never come by slow, steady human effort.
Enoch brought Zion because the Lord commanded and personally dwelt with His people.
Christ Himself brought Zion to the Nephites—and even they fell away after four generations.
Zion will come again, but only a very few will recognize it.
7. THE FINAL INVITATION
The Lord’s arms are still stretched out:
π “If the Gentiles will repent and return unto me, they shall be numbered among my people.” (3 Nephi 16:13)
π “Turn, all ye Gentiles, from your wicked ways… and come unto me.” (3 Nephi 30:1-2)
π “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock.” (Revelation 3:20)
The day is coming when the door will close, but today—right now—His invitation still stands.
THEIR TESTIMONY
This family’s words speak for all who are waking up:
“We are done saying ‘all is well in Zion.’ We are on our knees daily, seeking His face. Our ordinances point to Him, but only He can make them real. We would rather walk with Him alone than sit in comfort with the crowd.”
Their lives are proof that this is not just theory. Jesus Christ still ministers to those who hunger and thirst for Him.
CLOSING PRAYER
π️ *Lord, thank You for families like this, who remind us what it means to follow You.
Give us courage to repent as they have repented.
Open our eyes to our pride.
Teach us to walk with You until we see Your face,
and love You above all else.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.*
