The Great White Chief — Could It Be?

🌿 The Great White Chief — Could It Be?

πŸͺΆ Keep an open mind. That’s what I told myself the first time I glanced through this strange little book someone gave me years ago. Privately published. No copyright. No fanfare. Just a story passed quietly from one believer to another.

It’s called The Great White Chief—and I’m not here to prove it. But I am here to wonder.

“The more I know, the more I know I don’t know.”
That might be the most honest thing I can say about this.

But something in this story rings familiar. Hidden prophets. Sacred records. The Lord’s voice in forgotten places. The fall of organized religion. The rise of a remnant. Sound familiar?

πŸ” What’s This Story About?

  • Two brothers—archaeologists of Indian descent—stumble on a hidden people in the jungle

  • A white-robed tribe called the Chigaraguans, descendants of Joseph, son of Lehi

  • They live near the Guatemala-YucatΓ‘n border, isolated, pure, and holy

  • Their leader is a prophet called Echa Tah Echa Nah—The Mighty and Wise One

  • They hold a sacred library of records—some metal plates, some skins, even stone

  • Christ Himself visited them after His resurrection and gave them commandments

  • They’ve kept those laws ever since, waiting for His return

πŸ”₯ A Prophecy Fulfilled?

Here’s where it gets real interesting...

πŸͺΆ There was a great meeting of Native tribes over 75 years ago. Many know about it. A revered Chief Joseph was there—and his son stood beside him. And now, just recently, there was another sacred gathering in the YucatΓ‘n—just months ago.

Could this be the lineage of Joseph that Lehi saw in vision?

“His name shall be called Joseph, and it shall be after the name of his father.”
— 2 Nephi 3:15

“A choice seer will I raise up… and unto him will I give power to bring forth my word.”
— 2 Nephi 3:6–7

I’m not claiming, I’m just asking.

Maybe the Lord really did preserve a bloodline. Maybe Joseph of Egypt… Joseph son of Lehi… Joseph Smith… and now… another Joseph?

πŸ“– Do the Scriptures Line Up?

🧭 From the Book of Mormon:

“And I will show unto thee, O house of Israel, that the Gentiles shall not have power over you…”
— 3 Nephi 16:12

“He worketh in darkness for the welfare of his people.”
— 2 Nephi 27:27

πŸ•Š️ From the Nemenhah:

“The fullness was taken, but the Lord would still use them, for they were industrious. Yet He raised up prophets among the Remnant.”
— Tsihohnayah 14:9–10

“He caused that His voice should be heard in the distant places, where the remnant was hidden.”
— Mahnti 8:5

πŸ“œ From Joseph Smith’s time:

“Holy men ye know not of.”
— D&C 49:8

“John… shall tarry until I come… to bring souls unto me.”
— D&C 7:1–3

✨ What Struck Me Most?

  • The purity of the Chigaraguans—no money, no vice, no divorce

  • The sacred marriage ceremony—with baptism as a covenant act

  • Their expectation that Christ will return again directly to them

  • Their Golden Library—metal books like Nephi’s, preserved for a future time

  • Their prophecy that the keys would return to their people after the Gentiles fell away

  • The memory of a great Indian council… with a Chief Joseph and his son—just maybe, just maybe fulfilling 2 Nephi 3

πŸ’ Final Thoughts

I don’t need to convince anyone. This isn’t about proving.

It’s about watching... listening... and being ready.

Because God is not done.

And when He moves again—through a Joseph, a record, a voice from the dust—it might not come through a pulpit or a building.

“And they shall bring forth their words unto the Gentiles, that there shall be one fold and one shepherd.”
— 3 Nephi 15:21

He’s got His people. Hidden. Waiting. Faithful. Still wearing white.
