Who Calls You – The Peacemaker or the Bishop?
๐ฅ Who Calls You – The Peacemaker or the Bishop?
(AYAHTKUHYAHT NEMENHAH – Chapter Six)
A Preacher Comes to Town ๐️
Thirty years after the Nemenhah reestablished themselves in Maynihntah, a famous preacher named Behniaht rode in from Hahgohtl.
He came with one mission:
๐ Convince the Nemenhah that only his High Priest had the right to speak for God.
Behniaht was no ordinary missionary—he was second only to the High Priest of the Tuhcahntohrhah religion. In his mind, the Nemenhah were “ripe for destruction” because they believed in personal revelation and allowed a woman—Hayneht Paynieht—to serve as Tiwehkthihmpt (spiritual leader).
And right there begins one of the boldest scriptural debates you’ll ever read.
Authority: The Man or the Master? ⚖️
Behniaht thundered:
“When the High Priest speaks, it is as if the Peacemaker Himself has spoken. The Haymehnay (Holy Spirit) will never contradict the High Priest. If you hear something different, it’s not from God—it’s apostasy.”
Sound familiar? ๐ฌ
But Hayneht Paynieht answered with quiet fire:
“The Peacemaker Himself calls His servants. Even if an angel—or the risen Peacemaker—spoke to me, I must still seek confirmation from the Haymehnay.
I will follow not the sayings of another human being, but that which is confirmed of the Haymehnay.”
This is the heart of Nemenhah doctrine—and the heart of the Book of Mormon, too (Moroni 10:5, 2 Nephi 32:5).
The Lord never handed His vineyard to one man. He still speaks to you.
Who Qualifies to Serve? ๐
Behniaht taught that worthiness came by obedience to leaders:
“Study the scriptures, follow your leaders, and the High Priest will call you. That’s how you qualify.”
Hayneht flipped the table:
“If anyone has the desire to serve the Peacemaker, this alone shall qualify them for the work.
No one expects perfection—only that you strive to act sacredly, repent, and take on the Peacemaker’s attributes.
When you feel the desire, call upon Him directly, then seek confirmation of the Haymehnay.”
The Peacemaker calls His servants—not committees, not councils, not a chain of men.
The Role of Women and Children ๐ฉ๐ง๐ฆ
Here’s where Behniaht lost the crowd.
He declared:
“A woman is the servant of her husband as a man is the servant of God.
She is his property, like his hand or his cattle.
Children, too, are his chattel—his to rule over.”
Hayneht didn’t flinch:
“Women and children are not slaves. They are children of Aylohhihm.
The Peacemaker has called women as prophets and leaders—Ruth, Esther, even Isaiah’s wife was called Prophetess. Would you tear those pages out of the book?”
To treat women and children as property is the doctrine of the Gahdiahntohnhehm, driven by greed and secret combinations.”
The Nemenhah believed every soul—man, woman, and child—has equal standing before God. Anything less is false doctrine.
Hayneht’s Final Warning ๐️
Hayneht closed with love, but no compromise:
“I honor and respect your beliefs, Behniaht. But before you try to convert this people, know this:
We are of one mind—the Peacemaker speaks to all who ask.
We will not bow to a cold, worldly doctrine that denies personal revelation or reduces women and children to cattle.”
Behniaht stayed a year, preaching in streets and meeting houses.
But the people rejected his authoritarian religion. Not a single soul converted.
The Lesson for Us ๐พ
The Nemenhah teach us something we desperately need to remember today:
✅ The Peacemaker calls His own servants.
✅ Personal revelation confirmed by the Haymehnay is the only safe guide.
✅ Women and children are not property—they are sons and daughters of God.
✅ No man, no title, no “mouthpiece” can replace the Peacemaker’s voice in your heart.
A Simple Prayer ๐
Peacemaker, call me Yourself.
Teach me to seek Your Haymehnay in all things.
Make me bold enough to follow Your voice,
Even if it contradicts every man.
And help me honor every soul as Yours—
Men, women, and children alike.
Amen.
Doctrine and Covenants 4:3
"Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work."
✔ That’s almost word-for-word what Hayneht Paynieht said:
"If anyone has the desire to serve the Peacemaker, behold, this alone shall qualify them for the work."(AYAHTKUHYAHT NEMENHAH, Ch. 6, v.75)
