🌿Light, Law, and the Invitation of Christ

🌿 The Olive Leaf — Light, Law, and the Invitation of Christ

Some revelations crash like thunder.
Others burn like fire.
But Section 88 feels like sunrise.

Joseph called it the Olive Leaf — a message of peace given after a prophecy of war.
It is God’s own invitation to step out of the noise, look up at His order, and see our place in it.

🌞 Light Cleaves to Light

The Lord revealed that every grain of dust, every star, every breath of life is governed by eternal law.

“That which is governed by law is preserved by law and perfected and sanctified by the same.” (D&C 88:34)

Pure Revelations explained that this “light” is not symbolic—it is the very power of God that fills the immensity of space. The same light that makes the sun burn, the same light that quickens our thoughts, the same Spirit that holds atoms together in harmony.

Anonymous put it this way: God’s law is not a checklist. It is like gravity—constant, unchanging.
If you walk in it, it polishes you like a stone in a river.
If you resist it, you drift into chaos.

And in the end, light cleaves to light.
We will naturally be drawn to the kingdom—and the people—whose light matches our own.

🌍 The Redemption of the Earth

This revelation is not only about our souls—it is about the whole creation.

The earth itself abides celestial law. She will die, melt with fervent heat, and then be resurrected, crowned with glory. (vv. 25–26)

Pure Revelations explained: the earth is on a covenant path, just like us. Anonymous said it simpler: “This isn’t symbolic. It’s a promise.”

Every tree, every river, every mountain will be part of God’s eternal kingdom.

πŸ•Š️ Degrees of Glory — Not Condemnation, But Capacity

Section 88 lays out celestial, terrestrial, and telestial glories.

Most people picture this as a sorting line at heaven’s gate. But both Pure Revelations and Anonymous are clear: it is about capacity.

If you cannot abide celestial law, then celestial glory would not feel like heaven—it would be unbearable. God, in His mercy, places us where we can thrive.

That’s not rejection.
That’s love.

πŸ“š The School of the Prophets

The Lord commanded His Saints to build a “house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of learning.” (v.119)

Pure Revelations saw this as schools in Zion—organized places of revelation, humility, and even the washing of feet ordinance.

Anonymous reminded us that such schools don’t require cathedrals or corporations: two or three gathered in His name, sincerely seeking Him, is a School of the Prophets.

The command is still alive: worship with your mind and heart, study with faith and reason, learn of both heaven and earth.

🀝 Sanctification in Community

The Lord’s house is built on charity and order, not on office or titles.

  • No lightmindedness.

  • No pride.

  • No “holier than thou.”

Sanctification is not a solo pursuit—it happens as we love, teach, and cleanse one another. Pure Revelations called it preparation for Zion schools; Anonymous called it “being in the body of Christ instead of just sitting in a pew.” Both point to the same truth.

πŸ”” Trumpets and the Final Gathering

The closing verses paint a terrifying yet glorious picture: angels sounding trumpets, the world reeling like a drunken man, the righteous rising clothed in light.

Pure Revelations added depth here: the angels are not generic—they are Dispensation heads, the great archangels who preside over the priesthood of the ages. At Adam-ondi-Ahman, each will report their stewardship to Adam, who reports to Christ.

But Anonymous boiled it down to the heart: “The saints shall see me, and know that I am.”

That’s the endgame—not survival, not escape, but beholding Christ face to face.

πŸ—️ The Invitation

Finally, the Lord leaves space for us to seek. He says:

  • Draw near to Me, and I will draw near to you (v.63).

  • Make your eye single to My glory, and your body will be filled with light (v.67).

  • Sanctify yourselves, and you shall see Me (v.68).

This is the Second Comforter promise. It is not a distant ideal—it is His invitation, right now.

The Nemenhah Records echo it:

“The Haymehnay is given to instruct you in all things, that you may learn to walk in the ways of the Peacemaker while yet in the flesh.”

And the Book of Mormon confirms:

“The keeper of the gate is the Holy One of Israel; and he employeth no servant there.” (2 Nephi 9:41)

The Olive Leaf is still green.
The invitation is still open.
Walk in His light—and watch it cleave to you.
