๐ Mother Earth, True Stewardship, and the Temple That Leads to the Savior
๐ Mother Earth, True Stewardship, and the Temple That Leads to the Savior
We’ve been walking through the Nemenhah records — and two chapters in particular (The Second Book of Pah Nahtahn, Chapters 6–7) stand out like pillars. They speak to us about Mother Earth and about the true purpose of temple blessings: not endless symbols, but actually meeting the Savior.
๐ฑ Mother Earth Speaks
These chapters remind us that the land itself is not dead matter. The Nemenhah testify that the earth is a living covenant partner — called Pah Aylohway (Mother).
If the people were righteous, the valley spoke words of comfort and safety.
If the people were wicked, it spoke menacing warnings.
When the city grew too large, the land itself pressed them to form new settlements.
This is Mother Earth — the divine gift of God who nourishes and instructs her children. She will give freely of her abundance to those who partner with her in gratitude, but withhold her abundance from those who exploit her.
That’s covenant language. Not superstition. The Earth herself enforces God’s law of stewardship.
๐️ Temples: Symbol or Reality?
Something else struck me.
In LDS temples today, we’re told the ordinances and tokens are simply pointing to Christ — symbols, rehearsals, beautiful shadows.
But in the Nemenhah records, the message is clear:
These things are not just symbols.
They are invitations to actually meet the Savior in this life.
The Peacemaker is not hidden behind layers of ritual, but comes to those who seek His face with pure intention.
That’s the crucial difference: pointing toward Him vs. being brought into His presence.
๐ฅ Zion’s Way
When the Nephites gathered at the temple in Bountiful, they didn’t just act out ceremonies — Christ came down among them.
The Nemenhah echo the same:
Stewardship of the earth is part of preparing Zion.
Pure hearts receive the Spirit of the place, the Spirit of Mother Earth.
And the temple blessings are fulfilled when the Savior Himself takes you by the hand and leads you through.
๐ Why This Matters Now
We live in a time when the LDS Church builds temple after temple, but still proclaims: “These things are only symbols pointing to Christ.”
But the Nemenhah, the Book of Mormon, and Isaiah declare: No — you may actually meet Him.
Be born again by fire.
Receive the Spirit as your constant companion.
Enter His presence while in the flesh.
✍️ Closing Witness
Mother Earth herself testifies of this. She groans under pride, greed, and neglect. But to those who walk humbly, she opens her hand wide.
And the temple path, if rightly understood, leads not to walls of stone but to the Living Christ.
Not “someday.” Not “only after death.”
But now — in this life — for all who seek His face.
๐️ That is Zion’s way.
