π· Starting Small – Keeping an Open Prayer All Day
(Day 7 of “Finding Joy and Peace in a World of Contention” Series)
Over the last six days, we’ve looked at:
The Lord’s warning of condemnation.
Lehi’s dream and the real iron rod.
The danger of borrowed light.
The modern test of Church or Savior.
The Doctrine of Christ.
The Nemenhah witness of women and priesthood.
Today, we close with something so simple — and so powerful — that it can keep you walking with the Savior every single day: starting small and keeping an open prayer all day.
π A Testimony That Stuck With Me
Last week, a dear brother bore his testimony and gave some advice to his son.
He said:
“When you wake up in the morning, start your prayer — and don’t say amen until the end of the day.”
That’s it.
Simple. But if you do it with a real heart, it will change everything.
π️ What This Really Means
When you rise in the morning, your heart shouldn’t be centered on what you want or need.
Instead, your first thought should be:
“Lord, what can I do for You today?”
From there, you keep that prayer open — talking with Him, listening for His direction — while you:
Help your spouse with something small.
Speak kindly to someone who’s struggling.
Follow a quiet prompting to call a friend.
πͺΆ The Nemenhah Perspective
The Nemenhah Records show that walking in the Spirit is not a “Sunday” thing — it’s an every moment thing:
“Consecrate every good thing in this hoop over and over… and have the courage to see what is not good, and make the change.” (AYAHTKUHYAHT NEMENHAH)
An open prayer helps you consecrate the good things and correct the bad ones in real time.
✨ Why Starting Small Matters
If you are faithful in the small things, the Lord will trust you with bigger things.
If you listen in the daily, ordinary moments, you’ll recognize His voice in the big, life-changing ones.
πΊ The Final Invitation of This Series
If you want joy and peace in a world of contention, start here:
Wake up with an open prayer.
Keep it going all day.
Ask Him what you can do for Him, and then do it.
The Savior’s voice is steady. His love is sure.
And when you walk with Him like this, no storm will take your peace.
