(Day 6 of “Finding Joy and Peace in a World of Contention” Series)

Yesterday, in Day 5, we walked through the Doctrine of Christ — heaven’s formula for peace in any storm.

Today, we look at a truth that can both surprise and heal: the Nemenhah Records’ testimony about women and priesthood.

πŸͺΆ The Nemenhah Perspective

In the Nemenhah Records, priesthood is not primarily about offices, ordinations, or titles.
It is about stewardship — the responsibility given by God to bless, guide, and protect according to His will.

Here’s what it says:

“The Mothers of our people hold stewardship in the Home, in the Land, and in the Heavens… For without the voice of the Mother, the Council is blind.” (Book of Tsihmlayi)

In their society:

  • Women presided over councils when the matter involved the home, the raising of children, and the welfare of the people.

  • This wasn’t a delegated “permission” from men — it was recognized as power given by Heavenly Parents from the beginning.

πŸ“œ Priesthood as God Gave It

In the Restoration as recorded in the Nemenhah, both men and women exercised priesthood authority in their spheres.
Men’s stewardship often centered on protecting and providing.
Women’s stewardship included nurturing, governing, and guiding — not just within the home, but in the councils of the people.

And neither was “lesser.”

⚠️ The Shift

Somewhere along the way, in much of modern organized religion, priesthood was reduced to a hierarchy of male offices.
That’s not how the earliest Saints of the Nemenhah understood it.

They knew that without the mother’s voice, the council could not truly hear the will of God — because the image of God is both male and female (Genesis 1:27).

✨ What This Means for Us Today

If God’s people are to live in Zion, then both halves of His image must have their full, God-given stewardship restored.
Zion is not a man-led utopia — it is a family of God led by Heavenly Parents through sons and daughters who hear Their voice.

🌺 The Invitation

Today’s step toward joy in a world of contention is this: Honor the God-given stewardship of the women in your life — and if you are a woman, seek to walk in the full light and authority Heaven has placed in you.

Tomorrow, in Day 7, we’ll conclude this series with the simple daily practice that keeps you walking with Him — starting small and keeping an open prayer all day.
