πŸ•Š️ Awake, Zion – The Condemnation and the Call

“The whole church is under condemnation… and shall remain under this condemnation until they repent and remember the new covenant, even the Book of Mormon… not only to say, but to do.”
— Doctrine & Covenants 84:54–57

πŸ”₯ The Word We Don’t Talk About

When President Russell M. Nelson stood in General Conference and declared the church was still under condemnation, most of us barely blinked.

But that word — condemnation — is not casual. It means something is blocking the full flow of revelation, priesthood power, and Zion’s rise. And the Lord said it will remain until we act, not just believe.

Ezra Taft Benson confirmed in 1986 that this condemnation, first spoken in Joseph Smith’s day, had never been lifted. Nothing has changed since.

πŸ“œ What the Scriptures Say

✔ Book of Mormon:

“And now, because of their unbelief they could not understand the word of God; and their hearts were hardened.” (Mosiah 26:3)

✔ Nemenhah Records:

“For if a people turn from the Way and trust to their own governance, behold, the Spirit withdraws, and they are left to themselves until they remember the covenant.” — Tsihohnayah Ahkehkthihm 14:62

✔ Bible:

“For the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7)

⚖️ Between Two Extremes

The danger is falling into one of two ditches:

  1. All is well in Zion — Pretending the condemnation doesn’t exist and nothing needs to change.

  2. It’s all corrupt — Assuming the church is beyond redemption and abandoning it entirely.

The truth is in between. Condemnation is a collective spiritual state, not the same as apostasy. It is a call to awaken, not to walk away.

πŸ™ Faith Like the Brother of Jared

Ether’s record tells of a man whose faith was so great he could not be kept from within the veil. This is the level of trust the Lord says will lift our condemnation.

And it’s not for one man or one leader — it’s for the whole people. Zion’s gates swing open only when her people believe enough to move mountains.

“When the people act with one heart and one mind, I the Lord will show forth greater things than have yet been seen.” — Mohrhohnahyah 15:8

πŸ“– The Book of Mormon – More Than a Token

The Book of Mormon is not a Sunday ornament. It is the new covenant the Lord gave this generation. And condemnation will remain until we “remember” it — meaning we live it, we let it cut us to the center, and we do what it says.

It is the manual for Zion. Every warning to the Gentiles, every prophecy about the last days, every call to repent applies to us.

⚠️ The Comfort of Complacency

2 Nephi 28 warns of a time when churches will say:

“All is well in Zion; yea, Zion prospereth, all is well…” — and yet the devil will “cheat their souls.”

This is part of condemnation — the quiet settling into religious routine without seeking the mighty change of heart.

πŸ”‘ Priesthood Power and the Future Work

The restoration is not finished. The sealed portion of the Book of Mormon, the fullness of priesthood power, and the building of Zion are still ahead.

President Nelson said the greatest manifestations of the Savior’s power are yet to come. But those gifts are tied to collective repentance and faith.

“Behold, the mighty shaking comes first to my house, to prepare a remnant that shall not fall away.” — Hayneht Paynieht Ahkehkt 6:12

πŸ›‘️ Discernment in an Age of Noise

The Nemenhah warn that false revelations will increase alongside true ones. The Lord commands every witness to be established “in the mouth of two or three.”

The Spirit, not the crowd, must confirm the truth. The “arm of flesh” will fail, even when it wears a white robe.

🌱 Awake, and Be Chosen

Zion will not be built by accident. She will be built by those who choose to awaken — who repent, remember, and walk in the covenant.

The Lord is not waiting on one leader to flip a switch. He is waiting on a people.

“If you will be my people, I will be your God; but if you will not, I shall choose another.” — Ayahtkuhyaht Nemenhah 7:43

✨ The Hope Ahead

The Lord’s promise is clear:
The greatest works are still to come.
The most powerful miracles are still future.
And the glory of Zion will surpass the first days of the Restoration.

But not until we awake.
