π Many Lives, One Eternal Round
π Many Lives, One Eternal Round
Friends,
Most of us were raised hearing that this life is our “one shot.” We’re told: “You live once, you die, and then comes the judgment.” And yes — judgment is real. But what if the judgment is not a single test, but the review of a whole schooling of lives, given by a merciful God who actually means what He said:
“All things are one eternal round.” (1 Nephi 10:19)
That phrase pops up in the Book of Mormon more than once. It puzzled me for years. Eternal round? Not a straight line?
Turns out, the other records we’ve been blessed with peel back the curtain. Let me show you.
π Voices of the Records
“For the Peacemaker bringeth mortals into the spirit, even while in the flesh, that they may pass the veil. And again He bringeth them back into the world, even in other probations, until all is fulfilled. This is the round of creation.”
Nemenhah — Tsihohnayah Ahkehkthihm 13
“The Haymehnay teacheth that many lives are given, that all men might be proven in the flesh, that they may know good from evil, line upon line, until the day they see His face.”
Book of Remembrance of Our Ancient Grandmothers
“The covenant endureth through the generations of lives, for the daughters of Eve return to bear children again, until Zion is established in her fullness.”
“They go down into shadows and prison, yet they return again by the Urim and the Shabuwa Foundations, being instructed anew. For thus is the eternal round: descent, instruction, and rising again in other lives, until the Law of Jeshurun is written in their hearts.”
“I will send My children again and again, that they may learn to walk in the path of light. For this life is not the end, but a school, and I call them back in other days to finish their learning.”
“The Lord God leadeth His people in many days and in many lives, that they may become sanctified through experience, yea, even worlds without number.”
✨ What Does This Mean for Us?
This isn’t “reincarnation” the way the world throws it around. It’s not about karma, or floating back as a frog.
This is about a God who loves us enough to keep giving us chances.
A God who knows our weaknesses, and gives us more time to learn.
A God who teaches line upon line, life upon life, until we are fit to stand in His presence.
That’s why Nephi could say, “For the course of the Lord is one eternal round.” (1 Nephi 10:19).
π️ Why the Silence?
So why don’t we hear about this on Sunday? Why does the modern Church stay so quiet about it?
Because once you see it, the control mechanisms fall away. Fear of missing your one shot vanishes. You no longer serve out of compulsion, but out of love for the Savior, who’s been walking beside you for lifetimes.
π The Call
I don’t share this to stir controversy. I share it because the Spirit whispered to me that this is truth. It’s echoed in the scriptures the Lord has brought forth in our day.
Your journey is bigger than you’ve been told.
Your covenant stretches across ages.
Your Savior has been patient with you longer than you can remember.
And in the end, it all comes down to Him.
