250 Years of Freedom — and the Covenant Still Holds
π️✍️ By The True Remnant
π Happy Birthday, America! π
Two hundred fifty years ago, a miracle began —
a nation built on faith, courage, and an idea bigger than kings or crowns:
“That all men are created equal, endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights…”
Today, as fireworks light the sky, we remember the cost —
and the covenant — behind that declaration.
π½ A NATION UNDER COVENANT
This land was never just a political experiment.
It was a promised land.
A land with purpose — and with conditions.
π
“If it so be that they shall serve Him according to the commandments which He hath given, it shall be a land of liberty unto them…”
— 2 Nephi 1:7
And again:
π
“Whatsoever nation shall possess this land shall be free from bondage… if they will but serve the God of the land, who is Jesus Christ.”
— Ether 2:10–12
Freedom is a divine gift — but it’s covenantal.
When a nation remembers God, it rises.
When it forgets, it falls.
π―️ THE WARNINGS STILL APPLY
We’ve been blessed beyond measure — but also warned beyond excuse.
π️ Secret combinations in high places.
π° Greed disguised as prosperity.
π Division among neighbors.
⚖️ Laws that mock heaven.
π
“They began to hide up their treasures… that they might be lifted up one above another.”
— Helaman 6:17
History repeats because hearts forget.
The Book of Mormon and the Nemenhah Records both foresaw this —
that the Gentiles would inherit this land, prosper, forget, and then be humbled.
But they also saw something else.
A rising.
A remembering.
A remnant.
πͺΆ THE VOICE OF THE NEMENHAH
“And behold, we did consecrate this land unto the Peacemaker, even Jesus Christ, that the people might dwell in peace if they remembered Him. But if they forgot Him, they would be swept from the face of the land.”
— Tsihohnayah Ahkehkthihm 13:4
Those ancient American prophets foresaw the same storm and the same sunrise.
They saw a people — humble, scattered, repentant — who would build again the waste places.
They saw Zion reborn.
π THE PROMISE STILL HOLDS
We’re standing on the edge of 250 years.
Two and a half centuries of mercy and warning,
of prosperity and pride,
of blessings and blindness.
But the promise still holds — if the people remember.
That’s what my book, Waking Up Zion, was written to remind us:
that the liberty of this land and the liberty of the soul are the same covenant.
And both depend on whether we’ll finally let Christ rule our hearts.
He’s still the God of this land.
He’s still the Founder of true freedom.
And He’s still willing to heal a nation that turns to Him.
✨ THE GREATEST FREEDOM
Yes, celebrate the flag and the fireworks.
But remember — the greatest revolution still happens one heart at a time.
π§ When we take His name upon us.
π₯ When we receive His Spirit.
π️ When we are born again — free indeed.
“Come unto Me and be baptized in My name… that ye may be sanctified by the reception of the Holy Ghost.”
— 3 Nephi 27:20
That’s the birth that no tyrant can steal.
That’s the freedom no government can grant.
π LET FREEDOM RING — ZION’S WAY
So this year — and next, as America turns 250 —
let’s celebrate differently.
Yes, fly the flag high.
Yes, honor the forefathers.
But let’s also rebuild what they prayed for:
A nation under God in deed, not just in pledge.
Because Zion isn’t built by politics —
it’s built by people who hear His voice and live His law.
π Jesus Christ is the God of this land.
He is the Giver of liberty.
He is the Author of peace.
And He is the only One who can make America truly free again.
π️ Let freedom ring — not just from mountains and steeples,
but from every heart that walks with the Savior.
