✨ Is the LDS Church the Only True Church?
Seeing Truth Through Heavenly Eyes
π️ We’ve all heard it: “We’re the only true and living church on the face of the whole earth.”
But the Lord never meant that to puff us up. He meant it to wake us up.
Because “true and living” isn’t about incorporation papers — it’s about being alive in Christ.
And every heart that walks in His Spirit is part of that living Church.
π‘ A Lesson from a Stranger
On my mission I met a Christian who radiated the love of Jesus.
He wasn’t interested in joining our church —
but I could see the Savior in his eyes.
That day I realized truth isn’t confined to one religion.
Truth lives wherever love and repentance live.
“Truth is knowledge of things as they are, as they were, and as they are to come.”
— Doctrine & Covenants 93:24
“And behold, the Haymehnay speaketh unto all people, for it is given unto all to profit thereby;
and it inviteth all to do good, and persuadeth all to come unto the Peacemaker.”
— ✔ Nemenhah: The Book of Hahgohtl 2:9–10
That’s truth in motion. Not locked in a building — but moving like wind through hearts that are open.
π Two Churches — Two Directions
Nephi’s angel said:
“There are save two churches only; the one is the church of the Lamb of God,
and the other is the church of the devil.”
— 1 Nephi 14:10
But those aren’t denominations — they’re directions.
One points toward Christlike love, the other toward self-exaltation.
“Every thing which inviteth to do good and to persuade to believe in Christ is sent forth by the power of Christ.”
— Moroni 7:16
And the Nemenhah add:
“They who serve in love, though they be of another tongue or teaching,
yet are of the Peacemaker’s fold; for He calleth not by names of men, but by the voice of the Spirit.”
— ✔ Nemenhah: Book of Tsihohnayah Ahkehkthihm 14:65–67
So when any person — in any faith — lifts the poor, forgives an enemy, or walks humbly with God,
they stand inside that true and living church.
πΎ Wheat and Tares in Every Field
Jesus warned that wheat and tares grow together until the harvest (Matthew 13:30; D&C 86:6).
The Nemenhah said it this way:
“In every circle there is mixture, both of the meek and of the proud;
the Peacemaker separateth them not by fence, but by their fruits.”
— ✔ Book of Mohrhohnahyah 8:12–13
So our task isn’t judging — it’s growing.
Let the angels sort it. We just keep reaching for the light.
π§Ί The Zoramite Trap
Remember the Rameumptom?
“Holy God, we thank Thee that we are Thy chosen…” (Alma 31:17–18).
That same spirit whispers today whenever we say, “We’re the only true ones.”
But the Peacemaker warned in another record:
“Behold, when men boast, saying, We are the chosen and all others are lost,
they cease to be chosen, for they have turned the face of holiness into pride.”
— ✔ Nemenhah: Book of Ohuhgohuh 7:22–23
The antidote? Love. Always love.
“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”
— John 13:35
π What “Only True and Living” Really Means
The Lord’s phrase in D&C 1:30 was never about exclusivity —
it was a calling to bring His spiritual Church “out of obscurity.”
And He defined that Church Himself:
“Whosoever repenteth and cometh unto me, the same is my church.”
— D&C 10:67–68
The Nemenhah echo it perfectly:
“Yea, all who repent and walk the Way of Peace,
whether in the lodge or the temple, whether in the east or in the west,
the Peacemaker counteth them His people.”
— ✔ Book of Tuhhuhl Nuhmehn 1:33–35
π―️ Types, Shadows, and Mirrors
All earthly religion is meant to be a mirror of the heavenly pattern (Hebrews 8:5; Alma 13:16).
When we forget that, we turn mirrors into walls.
“The Father gathereth all things into one in His Son.”
— Ephesians 1:10
“And He shall gather the remnant and also the strangers,
that there be no more ‘ours’ and ‘theirs,’ but all one family in the Peacemaker.”
— ✔ Nemenhah: Tsihohnayah Ahkehkthihm 14:83–84
That’s Zion — a unity that outgrows labels.
π€² Priesthood Without Pedestals
Priesthood is sacred stewardship, not status.
“No power or influence can or ought to be maintained by virtue of the priesthood…
only by persuasion, by long-suffering, by gentleness and love unfeigned.”
— D&C 121:41–42
“The true Tiwehkthihmpt speaketh softly, not to command but to remind,
for authority standeth in service, and power in humility.”
— ✔ Nemenhah: Book of Mohmeht Ahkehkt 2:11–12
π The Heart of It All
Maybe the “only true church” isn’t a brand — it’s a body.
A living heartbeat of believers across the earth who hear and follow the Voice.
“Other sheep I have… they shall hear my voice, and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.”
— John 10:16
“And behold, the Peacemaker is the Shepherd of all folds;
for every heart that heareth His Voice is gathered unto His pasture.”
— ✔ Nemenhah: Book of Tsihmlayi 5:18–19
That’s the Church that never falls.
That’s the Zion that endures when temples crumble.
That’s the truth worth standing for.
