๐ŸŒค️ INTRODUCTION — A TRUE CHURCH MUST BE A SPIRITUAL CHURCH

When I ask, “Is the LDS Church the only true church on the face of the land?” — what I’m really asking is this:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Does it still manifest the gifts of the Spirit that defined the early Saints?

Because that is the mark of the true church — not its wealth, not its temples, not its programs — but the living presence of the Holy Ghost among its people.

This beautiful record from Pure Revelations, A Witness to the Gifts of the Spirit, stirred my soul. It reminds us that these gifts are real, available, and desperately needed again in full measure. The author writes,

“This book is meant to help you understand the many gifts of the Spirit the Lord wishes to bestow upon you.”

And so, this post is my reflection — my witness — to what those gifts mean today, and how we might once again see them flourish among the humble followers of Christ.

๐Ÿ”ฅ THE GIFTS LISTED IN THE BOOK

The record walks through twenty distinct gifts of the Spirit — from the obvious to the deeply personal:

✨ Believing on the words of others that Jesus is the Christ
✨ Gift of faith
✨ Healing
✨ Working of miracles
✨ Revelation and prophecy
✨ Tongues and interpretation
✨ Discernment of spirits
✨ Knowledge, wisdom, and understanding
✨ Dreams, visions, and seership

Each one is a manifestation of God’s living power — not a checklist, but a divine invitation.

“Although it’s important to seek the best gifts, we must be careful to only seek them for the glory of God and not for our own pride or personal promotion.”

That single sentence could heal half the confusion in modern religion.

๐ŸŒฟ DISCERNMENT — THE GIFT WE DESPERATELY NEED

The author warns that discernment becomes more vital the closer we draw to God:

“The closer we come to Him, the level in which dark familiar spirits will seek to sidetrack and destroy us will increase. If we correctly discern the adversary, they will switch gears and try a new tactic.”

This sounds exactly like what the Nemenhah prophets taught — that the closer one approaches the Peacemaker, the more subtle the deceiver becomes.
The robe gets whiter, the voice gets softer, but the path grows narrower.

We must learn to recognize which voice belongs to the Shepherd, and which only sounds like light.

๐Ÿ“– THE BOOK OF MORMON AGREES

The Book of Mormon itself declares that these gifts should never cease among true believers:

“And again, to another is given the working of miracles;
And to another is given that he may prophesy concerning all things;
And all these gifts come by the Spirit of Christ;
And they come unto every man severally, according as he will.”
— Moroni 10:16–17

If they have ceased among us, then the question must be asked — why?

Are we too comfortable, too programmed, too reliant on hierarchy and manuals, to hunger for the unpredictable power of the Spirit?

๐Ÿ’ง THE NEMENHAH RECORDS CONFIRM

The Nemenhah also speak of these same gifts — though they call them the workings of the Haymehnay, the living breath of the Peacemaker.
They teach that every home, every Council, and every family is to operate by the Spirit, not by control.

“Teach your children to seek the Peacemaker’s commission,
and the Haymehnay’s confirmation —
for this is the sealing of heaven written in the soul.”
— Book of Mohmeht Ahkehkt

That is the gift of the Holy Spirit in its purest form — not conferred by hands alone, but sealed by heaven’s own handwriting upon the heart.

๐ŸŒบ HOW DO WE SEEK THESE GIFTS AGAIN?

๐Ÿ’ญ The book offers a roadmap:

  1. Believe on the testimony of Christ.

  2. Ask in humility.

  3. Use every gift only to glorify God.

  4. Record your experiences and share them with others.

  5. Test all things by the Spirit, not by authority or tradition.

This aligns beautifully with the Doctrine of Christ in 2 Nephi 31–32 — to repent, be baptized, receive the Holy Ghost, and then continue to speak with the tongue of angels until you know His voice personally.

๐Ÿ•ฏ️ MY PERSONAL REFLECTION

If the church is true, it will bear the same fruit today that it bore in the days of Joseph — revelation, prophecy, healing, seership, tongues, discernment, and miracles.
If those things are rare among us, then the solution is not to defend the status quo, but to repent and return to the simplicity of Christ’s gospel.

I do not say this to condemn — I say it to awaken.
Because the Book of Mormon, the Nemenhah Records, and this Pure Revelations testimony all agree on one truth:
๐Ÿ‘‰ The fullness of the gospel is not a structure — it is a Spirit.

And where that Spirit is, there is Zion.

๐Ÿ•Š️ Then ask the Lord personally:

“What gift do You desire to awaken in me?”

You may be surprised what happens next.
Because when the Holy Ghost moves freely among a humble people — when faith and love replace fear and hierarchy — the miracles return.

And that’s when Zion begins to rise again.
