“How to Hear Jesus in the Middle of a Spiritual Battle”

(Based on Video #20 — “Talk With Jesus Daily” Series)

Hello friends.
It’s me again…
the old man from the sticks,
sitting with my Bible open,
my Book of Mormon beside me,
and a heart that has walked through
more than a few spiritual battles.

If you’ve lived long enough,
you know that following Jesus
doesn’t mean life gets easier.

In fact —
sometimes the closer you get to Him,
the more intense the opposition becomes.

Video 20 is about that:

How to hear the Savior
when the enemy is whispering,
when the darkness presses in,
and when the spiritual battle gets real.

Let’s walk into this one gently.

⚔️ 1) The Closer You Walk With Jesus, the More the Enemy Pushes Back

This may sound strange,
but it’s true:

Resistance is the sign
that you’re moving in the right direction.

Nephi said it plainly:

“The devil will grasp you with his everlasting chains.”
— 2 Nephi 28:19

Not because you’re wicked —
but because you’re becoming dangerous
to the kingdom of darkness.

The Nemenhah Records say:

“The adversary stirs when the soul
draws near unto the Peacemaker.”

The battle doesn’t mean you’ve failed.
It means you’re progressing.

πŸŒ‘ 2) The Enemy Attacks the Mind First — Because That’s Where Revelation Lands

This is the heart of Video 20.

Jesus speaks to the heart
and to the mind.

So the enemy wages war
in the same place:

• thoughts of fear

• thoughts of confusion

• thoughts of self-doubt

• thoughts of worthlessness

• thoughts of panic

• thoughts of despair

• thoughts that God is far away

• thoughts that you’re not loved

These are not “your thoughts.”
They’re fiery darts.

Paul taught:

“We wrestle not against flesh and blood…
but against spiritual wickedness.”

— Ephesians 6:12

The battle is spiritual
before it ever becomes emotional.

πŸ•― 3) Jesus Speaks With Peace — Even In a Storm

Here’s how you know
which voice is His:

The Savior never speaks fear.
Never. Not once.

He said:

“My peace I give unto you.”
— John 14:27

Even when the message is correction…
even when the message is warning…
even when the message is direction…

It comes with peace.

The Nemenhah say:

“The Peacemaker speaketh peace
even in His rebuke.”

If your revelation shakes you with fear,
it’s not Him.

If it steadies you,
it’s Him.

Even in a battlefield.

🧎‍♂️ 4) When the Battle Is Intense — Your Job Is to Get Still

When spiritual warfare hits,
your emotions want to panic.

Your mind wants to run.
Your heart wants to hide.
Your thoughts want to race.

But the fastest way
to regain spiritual clarity
is the simplest:

✔ Stop moving.

✔ Breathe slowly.

✔ Whisper His name.

✔ Sit in quiet stillness.

✔ Let peace return.

David said:

“Be still, and know that I am God.”
— Psalm 46:10

Stillness is a weapon.

Stillness brings the Shepherd
back to the front of your thoughts.

πŸ”₯ 5) Speak Jesus’s Name Out Loud — It Shifts the Atmosphere

This is a powerful tool
taught right in the video.

When the battle is heavy,
speak His name.

Out loud.

There is real spiritual authority
in the name of the Savior.

“Every knee shall bow,
every tongue confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord.”

— Philippians 2:10–11

The Nemenhah Records add:

“His name scattereth darkness
as the sun scattereth the night.”

Say it:

“Jesus…
be near me.”
“Jesus…
bring Your peace.”
“Jesus…
quiet my mind.”

The darkness cannot stay.

πŸ›‘ 6) You Don’t Fight Spiritual Battles With Willpower — You Fight Them With Light

People often try to fight darkness
with human strength:

• trying harder
• gritting their teeth
• forcing positivity
• shaming themselves
• running away
• numbing the pain

But spiritual battles are won
through light, not effort.

Jesus said:

“I am the Light of the world.”
— John 8:12

Let light in.

Turn to Him.
Worship Him.
Speak to Him.
Invite Him.

Light wins without fighting.

The Book of Mormon teaches:

“Perfect love casteth out all fear.”
— Moroni 8:16

Light expels darkness
effortlessly.

🌀 7) Jesus Will NOT Let You Fall in the Battle

This is the most comforting truth of the whole video:

The enemy may shout.
The darkness may press in.
The storm may rise.
The pressure may crush you.

But Jesus will not let you fall.

He promised:

“My sheep hear My voice…
and no man shall pluck them out of My hand.”

— John 10:27–28

Not fear.
Not temptation.
Not doubt.
Not Satan himself.

The Nemenhah say:

“The Peacemaker keepeth His own
in the hollow of His hand.”

Your safety is not in your strength.
It’s in His grip.

πŸ•Š️ 8) What Jesus Wants You to Know Today

Here’s the whole message of Video 20
in one holy, comforting line:

“The battle is real —
but I am closer than the battle.”

Closer than the fear.
Closer than the darkness.
Closer than the enemy.
Closer than your thoughts.
Closer than your panic.
Closer than your weakness.

You don’t fight for victory —
you fight from victory.

Walk with Him.
Listen for Him.
Rest in Him.

He’s right here.
