This blog is here for those moments when the heart wants to sit quietly with the idea and let the scriptures speak without pressure.
There are seasons in a person’s walk with Jesus when…
nothing seems to be happening.
No strong feelings.
No spiritual emotion.
No clear sense of closeness.
Just quiet.
And for many sincere believers, that silence can be unsettling.
We start to wonder:
Did I do something wrong?
Did I lose the Spirit?
Did God move away from me?
But scripture—and lived experience—teach something gentler.
π± Feelings Are Not the Measure of Faith
We often confuse spiritual feeling with spiritual reality.
Feelings come and go.
Faith abides.
The Bible reminds us:
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
(2 Corinthians 5:7)
Faith is not sustained by constant emotion.
It is sustained by trust, even when nothing is felt.
Walking with Jesus does not always feel warm.
Sometimes it feels steady.
Sometimes it feels ordinary.
Sometimes it feels like nothing at all.
And that’s not failure.
π Jesus Is Present Even When You Don’t Feel Him
One of the most tender stories in scripture comes after the resurrection.
Two disciples are walking, confused and disappointed, and Jesus walks with them — yet they don’t recognize Him.
“But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.”
(Luke 24:16)
He is right there.
Walking with them.
Listening to them.
And they feel… nothing unusual.
Only later do they realize who had been beside them the whole time.
This teaches us something important:
Jesus can be present without announcing Himself.
πΏ The Book of Mormon: Faith Comes Before the Feeling
The Book of Mormon teaches that faith often precedes experience.
Alma explains it this way:
“Even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you.”
(Alma 32:27)
Notice what Alma doesn’t require.
Not certainty.
Not emotion.
Not spiritual excitement.
Just a desire.
Sometimes walking with Jesus looks like continuing forward with nothing more than a quiet willingness.
π₯ The Nemenhah Records: Walking Beyond Sensation
The teachings of the Nemenhah remind us that the Way is not built on sensation.
The elders teach that those who truly walk with the Peacemaker learn to live beyond signs and feelings, trusting the Haymehnay (Holy Spirit) even when it moves quietly.
There are seasons when the Spirit comforts —
and seasons when it trains.
Silence is not punishment.
It is refinement.
Those who remain faithful in quiet seasons are being prepared to walk steadily, not emotionally.
π± When Nothing Seems to Be Happening
If you’re in a place where:
• prayers feel flat
• scripture feels ordinary
• worship feels routine
Take heart.
You are not alone.
The Lord spoke through Isaiah to people exactly like this:
“Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself.”
(Isaiah 45:15)
Sometimes God hides not to leave us,
but to teach us how to walk without needing constant reassurance.
π️ Faith That Doesn’t Depend on Feeling
One of the deepest fruits of walking with Jesus is learning this:
You don’t have to feel close to Him to be close to Him.
If you’re still choosing honesty…
still choosing kindness…
still choosing to walk forward…
That is faith.
And faith that endures silence is strong faith.
πΏ A Gentle Reminder
If today feels spiritually blank,
don’t panic.
Don’t rush to fix it.
Don’t assume loss.
Just keep walking.
Jesus is not offended by quiet days.
He is not disappointed by ordinary faith.
He walks with you—even when you don’t feel it.
