This blog is for seasons when you sense that something needs to be released—an idea, a habit, a season, a way of being—but your heart hesitates because letting go feels risky.
And as always, let me say this gently at the start:
If you have questions, or if this touches a place of fear or uncertainty in you, please feel free to ask. I don’t have all the answers—but I care, and I’ll do my best to respond as soon as I can.
You don’t have to carry this alone.
There are moments in the walk with Jesus
when you feel the invitation to let go.
Not because what you’re holding is evil.
Not because it was all wrong.
But because the season has changed.
And letting go—even of good things—
can feel frightening.
π± Letting Go Is Often an Act of Trust
We tend to think of faith as holding tightly.
But scripture often presents faith
as releasing.
Jesus said:
“He that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.”
(Matthew 10:39)
Letting go does not mean losing everything.
It often means making room
for what God wants to give next.
π Jesus Let Go Again and Again
Jesus continually released control.
He left crowds when they wanted to make Him king.
He walked away from places that wanted Him to stay.
He entrusted His future to the Father.
In His hardest moment, He prayed:
“Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.”
(Luke 23:46)
That was not defeat.
That was trust at its deepest level.
πΏ The Book of Mormon: Trusting God Beyond What We Can See
The Book of Mormon teaches that growth often requires surrender.
Alma spoke of faith this way:
“If ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true.”
(Alma 32:21)
Letting go often means trusting
what you cannot yet see.
And that kind of faith
takes courage.
π₯ The Nemenhah Records: Releasing What No Longer Serves the Way
The Nemenhah teachings speak openly
about the need to release attachments.
The elders teach that those who walk the Way
must occasionally loosen their grip—
not in fear,
but in confidence that the Peacemaker leads forward.
Holding too tightly can stall the walk.
The Haymehnay (Holy Spirit) gently signals
when it is time to release—
not to harm the soul,
but to free it.
π± When Fear Rises at the Thought of Letting Go
If you’re hearing thoughts like:
• “What if I’m wrong to let this go?”
• “What if I lose something important?”
• “What if nothing replaces it?”
Pause gently.
The Psalmist prayed:
“Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee.”
(Psalm 55:22)
God does not ask you to drop something
without offering support in return.
π️ Letting Go While Staying Close
One of the quiet lessons of walking with Jesus
is learning that you don’t have to let go alone.
You can loosen your grip
while holding His hand.
And if you need to talk it through,
or ask something that feels tangled,
please feel free to ask. I’ll listen, and I’ll try to help where I can.
Sometimes clarity comes
as we speak honestly about fear.
πΏ A Gentle Word
If you’re afraid to let go,
be patient with yourself.
Release does not have to be rushed.
Trust grows in steps.
Jesus does not force the hand open.
He invites it.
And He stays close
as you learn to loosen your grip.
