๐ŸŒฟ When the Door Cracks Open — Scripture Was Already There

A recent documentary series called The Religion Business has been stirring something in a lot of hearts.

It doesn’t preach.
It doesn’t condemn.
It doesn’t argue doctrine.

It simply shows what happens when religion begins to function like a business.

And for many people, something quietly happens when they watch it.

A door cracks open.

What most don’t realize yet is this:

๐Ÿ“– The scriptures warned us long before the cameras arrived.

๐Ÿ“– The Book of Mormon Was Never Comfortable With Institutions

The Book of Mormon is not a book that flatters churches.

It was written to us — the latter-day Gentiles — and it does not whisper its warnings.

“He commandeth that there shall be no priestcrafts; for, behold, priestcrafts are that men preach and set themselves up for a light unto the world, that they may get gain and praise of the world.”
Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 26:29

And again:

“Because of pride, and because of false teachers, and false doctrine, their churches have become corrupted.”
— Mormon 8:28

And perhaps the most piercing line of all:

“They wear stiff necks and high heads… and they rob the poor because of their fine sanctuaries.”
— 2 Nephi 28:13

The Book of Mormon does not condemn believers.

It condemns systems that drift.

๐Ÿšจ “Churches Built Up for Gain”

The phrase appears again and again:

“Churches which are built up for gain… to get power over the flesh… to get gain.”
— 1 Nephi 22:23

Notice what is not mentioned:

  • No debate over rituals

  • No argument about labels

  • No focus on theology

The warning is about motivation.

When a church begins to measure success by:

  • Buildings

  • Assets

  • Expansion

  • Control

  • Silence from the members

…it has already left dangerous ground.

๐ŸŒพ The Book of Mormon Wakes You Up

This is the role the Book of Mormon plays.

It doesn’t tell you where to go.
It doesn’t hand you a new institution.
It doesn’t say, “Join this instead.”

It simply wakes you up.

It says:

๐Ÿ‘‰ “Something is wrong. Pay attention.”

That’s exactly why a series like The Religion Business resonates so deeply right now.

It’s saying the same thing — just without scripture.

It cracks the door.

๐Ÿ•Š️ The Nemenhah Records Teach You How to Walk

Here’s where the path continues.

The Nemenhah Records do something different.

Where the Book of Mormon warns,
the Nemenhah instructs.

They speak plainly about:

  • Churches that accumulate wealth in the last days

  • Sacred things being used to justify gain

  • Leaders claiming authority while losing stewardship

  • Zion failing when it becomes centralized and controlled

And then they do something rare.

They show another way.

Not rebellion.
Not replacement.
Not a new hierarchy.

But walking with the Peacemaker.

Living consecration.
Open records.
Care for the poor.
Councils instead of kings.
Mothers guiding communities.
Stewardship instead of ownership.
Presence instead of performance.

๐Ÿงญ From Waking Up to Walking With Jesus

This is the pattern:

๐Ÿ“– The Book of Mormon wakes you up.
๐Ÿชถ The Nemenhah Records teach you how to walk.
๐Ÿ•Š️ Jesus Himself does the leading.

No rush.
No pressure.
No demand to burn bridges.

Just a quiet realization:

“Maybe I was taught to protect a system
instead of follow a Shepherd.”

๐Ÿ”ฅ Why This Moment Matters

Many people will stop at the door.

They’ll sense something is wrong…
but stay frozen.

That’s understandable.

But scripture never intended awakening to be the end.

It was always meant to lead to relationship.

Jesus didn’t say:

“Build me bigger sanctuaries.”

He said:

“Come, follow me.”

๐ŸŒฑ A Gentle Invitation

If The Religion Business unsettled you,
that doesn’t mean your faith is failing.

It may mean it’s being purified.

Let the Book of Mormon do its work.
Let the Nemenhah show the walk.
And let Jesus remain the center.

No arguing.
No fear.
No new cage.

Just a path.

๐Ÿ•ฏ️ Final Thought

The documentary cracks the door.

The scriptures explain why.

And the Savior stands quietly on the other side,
not forcing,
not shouting,
just waiting.
