๐ŸŒฟ 65 — What It Means to Be a Talking Feather

๐Ÿชถ Why I’m Not Here to Lead You — Just to Walk Gently Beside You

Over the years, people have asked me what I mean when I use the phrase “Talking Feather.”

In many Native American councils, a feather or talking stick was passed from person to person.
Whoever held it spoke.
Everyone else listened.
No interruptions.
No domination.
Speech was meant to be thoughtful and careful.

I don’t use the phrase as a title.

I use it as a reminder.

A Talking Feather is not authority.
It is posture.

๐ŸŒพ A Feather Doesn’t Force

A feather doesn’t push.

It doesn’t argue.
It doesn’t dominate.
It doesn’t shout.

It moves lightly.

It carries something — but it carries it gently.

That’s what I mean.

If I have learned anything on this journey, it is this:

Truth never needs to be forced.

When it is forced, it stops being truth and becomes control.

๐Ÿ•Š️ The Difference Between Teaching and Pressuring

There is a kind of religious voice that presses.

It insists.
It sharpens.
It rushes.

I’ve felt that voice before — in myself.

But the Lord has been teaching me something different.

He does not pressure.

He invites.

He does not corner.

He opens.

He does not demand performance.

He asks for surrender.

If I speak at all, I want to speak the way He speaks.

Lightly.

๐ŸŒฟ I’m Not Here to Build a Following

I am not here to gather people to myself.

I am not here to build a movement.

I am not here to create a new structure.

If you walk away from everything I’ve written but walk closer to Christ, then everything has worked.

A Talking Feather does not pull people toward himself.

He points.

And then he steps aside.

๐Ÿ’ง Why Gentleness Matters

We are living in a time when many people are waking up.

That can make people intense.

It can make them sharp.

It can make them urgent.

But urgency can quietly wound.

And sharpness can fracture relationships.

If awakening is healthy, it should make us more tender — not more aggressive.

The Lord does not need defenders.

He needs surrendered hearts.

๐Ÿค The Only Role That Matters

If I have any role at all, it is this:

To help steady hearts.

To remind people that heaven is close.

To encourage surrender over climbing.

To protect gentleness in the middle of awakening.

Not to lead you.

Not to outrun you.

Just to walk softly beside you.

๐Ÿชถ The Oath Behind It

To be a Talking Feather means:

I promise to walk gently.

I promise to speak only when invited.

I promise to answer with peace, not pressure.

I promise to love before I teach.

I promise to never use truth as a weapon.

I promise to stay humble.

I promise to listen for the Lord’s voice before I open my mouth.

I promise to let my life — not my volume — be my message.

That’s it.

No rank.
No throne.
No ladder.

Just a feather.

๐Ÿค
If I ever stop being gentle…
I’ve stopped being what I claim to be.
