The 36-Chapter Chiasm That Shocked Me

The 36-Chapter Chiasm That Shocked Me

(Hidden Patterns in Scripture Series)

🧭 Opening

In the last video I mentioned a book from the Nemenhah writings called:

The Lamentation of Mehnipahsihts.

When I first started reading it, I was simply studying the teachings.

But by that point I had already spent years looking for chiasmus in scripture.

So naturally my mind started watching for patterns.

And that’s when something happened that honestly shocked me.

πŸ“œ The First Hint

At first I noticed small mirror patterns.

A teaching would appear early in the book…

Then later the same ideas would appear again in reverse order.

That happens sometimes in ancient writings.

But then something strange started happening.

The patterns kept going.

Chapter after chapter.

🌿 When the Pattern Got Bigger

After a while I stepped back and looked at the entire book.

And suddenly it hit me.

The whole record appeared to be arranged like a mirror.

Not just verses.

Not just paragraphs.

The entire structure of the book.

Thirty-six chapters.

Mirroring themselves.

 The Structure

When I laid it out, the pattern looked something like this:

A — Chapters 1-14
The people begin falling into pride and spiritual collapse.

B — Chapters 15-18
The center teaching about Zion and the heart of God.

A' — Chapters 19-36
The path toward restoration and returning to the Creator.

Everything moves toward the center…

and then reflects back outward.

πŸͺΆ The Center of the Chiasm

Right in the middle of the book is a remarkable teaching.

The message about Zion principles.

Peace.

Stewardship.

Living in harmony with the Creator and with one another.

In the record, these teachings are delivered through the voice of a daughter.

It’s one of the most beautiful sections in the entire record.

And it sits right at the heart of the structure.

🌱 My Reaction

When I first saw the full pattern, I remember just sitting there.

My eyes probably looked like they were popping out of my head.

Because the structure kept going.

And going.

And going.

It wasn’t a coincidence.

It was deliberate.

Carefully designed.

πŸŒ„ Why It Fascinated Me

What fascinated me most wasn’t just the pattern itself.

It was what the pattern pointed to.

Everything in the record leads toward that center message.

The teaching about Zion.

Peace.

Community.

Returning to the Creator.

The structure itself seems to highlight the most important message.

🌿 A Talking Feather Thought

One thing I’ve learned studying sacred texts is that sometimes the message isn’t only in the words.

Sometimes it’s also in the design of the record itself.

The structure can guide the reader toward the heart of the teaching.

And in this case, the heart of the message is clear.

The path toward Zion.

πŸŒ„ The Invitation

If you enjoy studying scripture, you might try reading The Lamentation of Mehnipahsihts with that structure in mind.

Watch how the early warnings build toward the center.

Then watch how the second half mirrors the first.

It’s one of the most fascinating literary structures I’ve ever studied.
