“I want the liberty of thinking and believing as I please… It feels so good not to be trammeled.” Joseph Smith Jr. He didn't get Xed! He got killed!
π« Faithful Saints Cast Out — As They Suppose
“It does not prove that a man is not a good man because he errs in doctrine.”
–Joseph Smith (DHC 5:340; Words of Joseph Smith, p. 183)
⚖️ When Conscience Gets You Kicked Out
“There was no law against a man's belief… for it was strictly contrary to the commands of God that there should be a law which should bring men on to unequal grounds.”
(Alma 30:7)
That’s the way it was supposed to be.
But not anymore.
Today?
You speak too honestly—
You walk too closely with Christ—
You question too boldly—
You’re out.
π Just Like Abinadi
He wasn’t excommunicated.
He was burned.
Because he told the truth.
Because he didn’t quote the leadership-approved narrative.
Because he followed God above men.
π’ Joseph Smith Saw This Coming
“I want the liberty of thinking and believing as I please… It feels so good not to be trammeled.”
That’s what Joseph said when a brother was called out just for believing differently.
But what’s happened since?
The Church now has a creed in disguise.
And if you don’t repeat it back—line for line,
you’re a threat.
π₯ The Irony of Exiling the Faithful
Jesus said the sheep would be cast out of the synagogues.
He wasn’t kidding.
Many who’ve been excommunicated:
Keep the commandments
Love the scriptures
Defend Joseph Smith
Seek Christ directly
Build Zion in their homes
But because they don’t bow to correlated control,
they’re erased.
Not gently.
Not honestly.
Just erased.
πͺ When the Church Closes Its Doors…
God opens another.
You can leave the building—
and still be part of the true church:
The one not built with hands.
The one written in hearts.
πΏ Final Thought: You’re Not Alone
If you’ve ever felt like you had to choose between honesty and belonging—
between Christ and correlation—
between freedom and fellowship—
You’re not alone.
You’re in good company.
Joseph chose liberty.
Abinadi chose truth.
Jesus chose the Father over the Pharisees.
And so can you.
