The Remnant: It’s Not Who We Thought
๐ฟ The Remnant: It’s Not Who We Thought
When I used to hear the word remnant, I thought it meant the few good Latter-day Saints left before the Second Coming.
But that’s not what the scriptures say.
The remnant isn’t just those with perfect records.
It’s not about temple recommends or church activity.
The real remnant is something older… deeper… holier.
๐ชถ Who the Lord Calls His Remnant
“And I will gather the remnant of My people… and they shall no more be afraid nor dismayed.”
—Jeremiah 23:3
“They are a remnant of the seed of Joseph… and they shall build a city, which shall be called the New Jerusalem.”
—3 Nephi 21:23
“The remnant shall return… unto the mighty God.”
—Isaiah 10:21
They are the brokenhearted.
The cast-off.
The ones He has preserved for a purpose.
Not polished. Not elite.
Just faithful in the fire.
๐บ What The Chosen Helped Me See
Lately, I’ve been watching The Chosen.
And every time the Savior calls someone new to follow Him, I’m reminded again—
It’s never who you'd expect.
It’s not the scholars.
Not the temple elite.
Not the leaders in robes.
It’s fishermen.
Tax collectors.
Women with a past.
Men with demons.
People who had been disqualified by religion, but chosen by God.
That’s the pattern.
It always has been.
And if Christ walked into our day right now… I’m not sure He’d be calling from the conference center.
I think He’d be out on the street.
Or in the hills.
Calling the humble again.
Just like before.
๐น What the Nemenhah Records Restore
“Behold, the remnant shall come up out of the desert places… they who have kept the Record and remembered the Way.”
—Book of Mahnti 8:17
“We are the remnant—not because of greatness, but because we were willing to hear His voice again.”
—Book of Tsihohnayah, Chapter 13
The Nemenhah didn’t claim to be the chosen because of lineage or leadership.
They became the remnant by remembering Christ—the Peacemaker—and walking in covenant with Him.
๐♂️ Who Are They Today?
You probably won’t find them on TV.
They won’t be the keynote speakers at General Conference.
They’re in the canyons.
The forests.
The hidden valleys.
They’re the ones leaving Babylon behind—not because they hate the Church, but because they finally heard the Shepherd’s voice.
The Remnant is rising.
Quietly.
Boldly.
In Him.
๐พ My Invitation to You
Don’t ask, Am I in the Church?
Ask, Am I in Christ?
The Remnant isn’t a ward list.
It’s a heart condition.
Be willing to let go of false identity.
Step into the covenant Christ has been offering all along.
Not a manmade system—
but the true gathering of Israel.
๐ฟ Final Thought
The Remnant will not be televised.
It won’t be voted in.
But it will be gathered.
And it will be glorious.
And maybe—just maybe—the ones who’ve been rejected, overlooked, and misunderstood…
…are the very ones He’s calling again.
Be holy, Godfrey.
Be chosen. Be whole. Be part of the Remnant.
“I’m not starting a movement. I’m not building a church.
I’m just waking up—walking with the Lord—and if you hear Him calling too…
then maybe you’re part of the Remnant too.”
