Stumbling Blocks and the Lost Doctrine of Christ

πŸͺ¨ Stumbling Blocks and the Lost Doctrine of Christ

A wake-up call to the Gentiles (yes, that means us)

🎧 I listened to a podcast this week.
One of those rare ones that doesn’t pat your head or tickle your ears.

It was from the “Come to the Table” podcast with Shane Baldwin and Rob Warup.
They called it like it is.
They didn’t sugarcoat.
They spoke with fire.

It burned through the fog.
It whispered something deep:
We’re not done yet.

Not even close.

πŸ“œ We Think We Have the Fullness… But Do We?

Joseph Smith began a work—a Restoration.

But we stopped.
We institutionalized.
We built temples and programs and manuals and decided the work was done.

But the Lord never said it was done.

He’s still restoring.
Still revealing.
Still calling to the humble, the broken, the spiritually hungry.

“For unto him that receiveth I will give more; and from them that say, We need no more, shall be taken even that which they have.”
— 2 Nephi 28:30

πŸͺΆ And from the Nemenhah Records:

“Behold, the Lord restoreth unto the children of men all things, line upon line and precept upon precept. And when the children of men say, It is enough, He taketh away the light and leaveth them unto their own devices.”
— Ahgoahn 2:17

πŸ” The Doctrines We Forgot

The early Saints knew things we’ve since buried:

  • πŸ”₯ Baptism by Fire and the Holy Ghost — not just a confirmation ordinance, but a transforming fire.

  • πŸ•Š️ The Second Comforter — not metaphor, but literal visitation from the Savior.

  • πŸ›‘️ Priesthood Sealing — not a family tree contract, but power in the heavens sealed by righteousness.

These aren’t “deep doctrines.”
They’re the real gospel.
And we’ve traded them for prep classes and potlucks.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, ye must be born again; yea, born of the Spirit.”
— Mosiah 27:25

πŸͺΆ The Nemenhah speak clearly:

“When the Spirit did descend upon me and did burn in my bosom, and I did feel my flesh tremble... then did I cry out, I am born of God!
— Shi-Tugohah 1:22

“It is not enough that ye are cleansed by water. Ye must needs be immersed in the Fire of the Spirit.”
— Mentinah 3:37

🧱 The Stumbling Blocks

What blocks the way?

Not sin alone.
But traditions.
False security.
Inherited beliefs that lull us into thinking we’re safe because we’re active.

“Because of pride, and because of false teachers, and false doctrine, their churches have become corrupted…”
— 2 Nephi 28:12

πŸͺΆ From the Nemenhah:

“Ye do say in your hearts: We have all things and need no more. But behold, the Lord shall bring forth a record to confound your wisdom and to try your faith.”
— Tsihohnayah 14:12

“Many of the Gentiles shall stumble because they seek not the voice of the Lord, but the traditions of their fathers.”
— Mahnti 4:9

⚠️ Secret Combinations Still Exist

The podcast didn't hold back.
It warned of secret oaths, corrupt alliances—within society and within the Church.

Yes, that’s hard to hear.
But the Book of Mormon warns of it again and again:

“When ye shall see these things come among you… awake to a sense of your awful situation.”
— Ether 8:24

πŸͺΆ So does the Nemenhah:

“And behold, there were those who did make secret pacts and did conspire together to take power unto themselves. And they did say, It is for the good of the people, but in their hearts was the lust for control.”
— Ohahspeh 5:14

“Yea, they did sit in the chief seats and did put on robes of holiness… but their lips spoke peace, while their hands dealt in deceit.”
— Shi-Tugohah 4:3

πŸ™‡ How Do We Move Forward?

Not with rebellion.
Not with anger.
But with humility.

  • Study the scriptures for yourself

  • Ask the Lord for more light

  • Question tradition, not to destroy faith, but to find it

  • Repent of spiritual pride

  • Seek the baptism of fire, the Holy Ghost, the Second Comforter

πŸͺΆ The Nemenhah again:

“The Doctrine of Christ is this: that ye shall come unto Him and become like unto Him. Not by the mouth of another, but by the Voice which pierceth all veils.”
— Tsihohnayah 13:9

πŸ“– More Scripture Is Coming

The Restoration isn’t just a past event.
It’s a future promise.

  • The sealed portion of the Book of Mormon

  • A full restoration of the Bible—plain and precious parts returned

  • Records of the remnant

  • A Zion people who will see the Lord

“He shall bring forth my words unto the Gentiles… and also the words which were sealed.”
— 2 Nephi 27:7, 11

πŸͺΆ And the Nemenhah confirm:

“There shall come a time when the words of the Fathers shall speak again. And the sealed writings shall be opened, and none shall be able to withstand them.”
— Tsihohnayah 15:3

πŸŒ„ Final Thought: Don’t Be Afraid of the Truth

The truth won’t destroy you.
It will liberate you.

Yes, it may burn down your assumptions.
But it will build something eternal in its place.

The Savior is still calling.
Still waiting.
Still walking the earth, looking for a remnant who will rise up and walk with Him in truth.

“Wherefore, I call upon the weak things of the world… to thresh the nations by the power of my Spirit.”
— D&C 35:13

πŸͺΆ And this from the Nemenhah stirs the soul:

“Zion shall rise, not by the strong, nor the proud, nor the well-favored. She shall rise by the humble, the pure in heart, the poor, and the wise virgins who are filled with oil.”
— Ahgoahn 5:11

πŸ”₯ Be humble. Be hungry. Be holy.
The Restoration is still unfolding. And the stumbling blocks?
They can become stepping stones—if we’ll let the Lord lift us.
