The Keys That Open the Door
π️ The Keys That Open the Door
What Happens When You Write It All Down
Have you ever stopped to write down all the times the Lord touched your soul?
Not your accomplishments. Not the surface stuff.
But the moments when heaven felt near,
when something sacred stirred inside you,
and you knew—this was real.
There are keys.
Sacred patterns.
Moments that teach us how to come back to the presence of God.
These aren’t just memories—they are invitations.
Here’s a list. Not to say look at me. But to say:
You have one too.
And when you write it down,
the Spirit will begin to whisper again.
Because the door is never closed. Not really.
π₯ 1. Desire
Real desire. The kind that moves you to tears.
The kind that burns in the soul like Alma's conversion:
“I cried within my heart: O Jesus, thou Son of God, have mercy on me... And now, behold, when I thought this, I could remember my pains no more.” (Alma 36:18–19)
Do you want Him enough to ask? Enough to cry out?
πΆ 2. Be as a Little Child
“For the natural man is an enemy to God... unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit... and becometh as a child.” (Mosiah 3:19)
Simple obedience opens the heavens.
Like a child saying: Okay, I’ll do it.
π§Ό 3. Ask Forgiveness
Are you clean—every whit?
The Savior asked the leper, “Wilt thou be made whole?” (John 5:6)
We have to ask it of ourselves too.
Even the secret shame. Even the self-blame.
π 4. A Great Sacrifice
“A religion that does not require the sacrifice of all things never has power sufficient to produce the faith necessary unto life and salvation.” —Lectures on Faith, Lecture 6
Sometimes He asks for something small.
Sometimes it’s everything.
He knows what stands in the way. Do you?
π‘ 5. Bathe in Light
Visualize it.
Light from your hands. Your chest. Your mind.
You are the lamp—He is the source.
“I am the light which ye shall hold up—that which ye have seen me do.” (3 Nephi 18:24)
Wash in His light. Let it fill you.
π 6. Praise
Not because He needs it.
Because you do.
“Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord.” (Psalm 150:6)
Sing. Shout. Write Him a letter.
Be one with His goodness. Let it lift your soul.
π️ 7. Take Time to Be Holy
Every day.
Scripture in the morning.
Sacrament with a purpose.
Worship that isn’t routine, but real.
“Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” (Joshua 3:5)
“Make every day a Sabbath, and the Sabbath a delight.” —Joseph Smith
πΆ 8. Gift of Tongues
Heavenly harmonics.
Not just language—but the pure language of spirit and soul.
The Nemenhah say:
“The tongue of angels shall speak in the ears of the faithful, and they shall sing the songs of heaven.” (Book of Tsihohnayah Ahkehkthihm 14:7)
π 9. Fasting
Not just from food.
From distractions. From noise. From Babylon.
“Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily...” (Isaiah 58:8)
Fasting clears the lens. And then, you see.
π️ 10. Eye of Faith
“If ye will awake and arouse your faculties... even to an experiment of my words... ye can give place for a portion of my word.” (Alma 32:27)
At first, blurry. Then, with faith—you see.
He’s always been there.
π What If You Wrote Yours?
Here are a few moments to stir your own remembering:
π΅ Have you ever heard a song so full of heaven you felt it open around you? Music has a way of parting the veil. For some, it happened in Hawaii. For others, in a quiet car ride, or an old hymn on a Sunday afternoon. What music has moved your soul?
π¬ There was a moment watching a film about Joseph Smith—when the question finally came: Is this true? Later, as a missionary, that same film played over and over. Then, one day, came the quiet but unmistakable yes.
π While serving in Korea, every scripture about the Savior was marked in color. Then came the chiasmus—layer after layer—and in the center? The Savior. His Atonement. His love. That’s what true chiasmus is always about.
𧳠Coming home from a mission. The pull of the world was strong—but something sacred had taken root and wouldn’t let go.
π―️ In a quiet upper room overlooking the Bountiful Temple, the Savior's arms came. Not in the temple itself—but close enough. The stillness opened. And heaven held close.
π¨π¦ A conversation in the temple with a father long passed. His words came clearly: “Get ready to rock and roll.”And life did just that.
⚰️ A cousin’s funeral. The veil thinned. Love passed through it. That day was holy, and it shook the soul awake again.
π A temple recommend mistakenly revoked. Then, just as strangely, returned. But the Lord’s hand was in the paperwork. Nothing is out of His reach.
π― Kneeling in the temple, seeking permission to marry a daughter of God. Her father had passed on. The answer came—in another tongue. Yes.
πΏ The Way Is Plain
In the Nemenhah Records, there are temple endowments unlike any found today in the institutional Church.
They are beautiful. Pure. Simple.
And they actually teach how to walk the Way—the path back to God.
The Nemenhah don’t claim superiority.
They simply remember who they are:
Forgiven.
Blessed.
Called.
And walking with the Lord, every day.
“We do not perform our ordinances to merit salvation. We do them because they sanctify us to walk the Way.”
“This is the Way, and there is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved.” (2 Nephi 31:21)
✍️ Write It Down
What if your spiritual life didn’t have to be distant?
What if the Lord is just waiting for you to remember?
Write your list.
Ten moments.
Even five.
Don’t force it—just begin.
Then the whisper comes.
Then the light returns.
Then the door opens.
“Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you.” (Doctrine & Covenants 88:63)
“And if men come unto me, I will show unto them their weakness.” (Ether 12:27)
“And they shall know Me, and I shall call them My people.” (Nemenhah, Book of Shibuhm, 5:6)

π Now go write your list.
