๐️ Dear Elder Godfrey – A Missionary Letter from Grandpa
When You Feel Alone, Remember Who You Are
Somewhere right now, a young elder is zipping up his suitcase.
There’s a name tag on the table. A stack of letters. A mother holding back tears.
And a grandfather quietly whispering to the Lord:
"What can I give him that will matter when it gets hard?"
I wrote this for him.
But it’s really for you, too.
✉️ A Letter to Every Missionary
Dear Elder Godfrey,
I served a mission too. It was hard.
There were long days. Lonely mornings. Doors slammed. Hearts closed.
But I want to share the secret that changed everything for me:
Every morning, ask this one thing:
๐ “Lord, what can I do for You today?”
That question will carry you.
It opens the heavens.
It silences the fear.
It puts the Savior back at the center—where He belongs.
You don’t have to carry the weight of the world.
You’re not called to fix everything.
Just love. Just lift. Just listen.
And let Him lead.
๐ The Book Is True
The Book of Mormon is a voice from the dust.
A last-days trumpet to the children of men.
The Lord will use you to deliver it.
Not because you're perfect.
But because you're willing.
Even the Nemenhah Records testify that the Lord will call missionaries—simple, believing ones—to carry His word to the remnant and to the scattered nations.
They say:
“The Lord shall send forth the humble to bear the message… And those who remember shall awaken and return.”
You are part of that.
A fulfillment of prophecy.
A living invitation for the world to come to Christ.
๐ฅ When It Gets Hard
Some days will feel dry.
Some prayers will feel like they bounce off the ceiling.
That’s okay.
Keep walking.
Keep trusting.
Even when your faith feels like a flicker,
He is still the fire.
When you feel scared or empty, remember who you are:
Not just a missionary.
Not just a name tag.
But a son of God.
A light in the dark.
A witness of Jesus Christ.
๐ Final Words from Grandpa
You don’t need to worry about money, career, or the future.
Just worry about today—
Did you walk with Him?
Did you listen?
Did you love?
If you do that, you’ll be okay.
You’ll do more than okay.
You’ll become His.
I love you.
He loves you more.
Go forward in faith.
— Grandpa
