π⛳ Don’t Borrow Light — Find His
π⛳ Don’t Borrow Light — Find His
The other night, I went to say goodnight to my dog. He was half-asleep, and I tried to force my petting on him. Big mistake. He bit me — and bit me hard.
Lying there later, I thought: Isn’t that exactly what happens when we try to force truth on someone who isn’t ready to receive it? Even good intentions can sting when they’re pushed. The Spirit whispered: “Let love breathe. Don’t force. Let Me do the drawing.”
π Borrowed Light and π Hearing Him
There are two things President Nelson has said that I absolutely believe came from the Holy Ghost:
“We cannot live on borrowed light.”
“We need to learn to hear the Lord for ourselves.”
I hold onto those. Because if you sat down with the Prophet himself, I believe he would admit: the Lord’s voice is more important than his own.
And doesn’t that match Moroni’s promise?
“By the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.” (Moroni 10:5)
That’s how I try to live. Listen, then ask the Lord directly. No borrowed light. No shortcuts.
⛳ From Golf to God
Those who know me know how much I love golf. For years, I played five days a week. Golf was my world. But here’s the truth: I didn’t lose golf because of surgery or age. I chose to lay it down — because I found something better.
I found Him. ✝️
The peace and love I feel walking with the Savior outweigh any joy I ever found chasing a little white ball around the fairway. I still love golf — but Christ has become my greater love.
π “Deceived? Internet? Devil?”
Some of my own family worry about me. I’ve heard it all:
“You’re deceived.”
“The devil’s got you.”
“Stop reading things on the internet.”
I smile when I hear it, because I know where I stand. The Spirit of the Lord doesn’t bring fear, confusion, or bitterness. He brings love, peace, and light. And that’s what I’ve been filled with.
So no, I don’t believe I’m following the devil. I believe I’m following the Lamb. π️
π» Why I Write
That’s why I’ve been writing. With less golf and more quiet time before surgery, I’ve poured my heart into over 200 blog posts.
Not to argue.
Not to tear anyone down.
But to leave a record — my record — of walking with the Savior.
My whole intent is simple:
π To express my love for Him.
π To testify how we can walk with Him today.
π To remind us that His voice matters most.
Nearly 10,000 readers have stopped by. Some agree, some don’t. That’s fine. My only hope is that someone, somewhere, feels nudged closer to Christ.
❤️ The Final Word
So here’s my bottom line:
Don’t borrow my light.
Don’t even borrow President Nelson’s light.
Go straight to the Source.
Because the Savior’s voice is calling you — not into tradition, not into fear, but into His peace.
And that’s the light worth laying down golf for. ✝️⛳π
