✍️ My Spiritual Journal — Walking With the Living God
✍️ My Spiritual Journal — Walking With the Living God
There’s a sacred pattern I’ve been learning for years now.
It didn’t come from a conference talk or a manual.
It came from my journal—
my living record of conversations with the Lord.
Some days, the entries are long.
Other days, they’re just a sentence.
But each one is a witness: He still speaks.
And the more I listen, the simpler His words become.
🕊 The Conversation Pattern
My entries often start with a question.
Not the kind you ask to get what you want—
but the kind you ask when you really want Him.
“Lord, how should I spend my time?”
(No answer.)
“Lord, should I spend more time with my family?”
(Yes.)
Sometimes silence is the greatest answer of all.
Sometimes He waits for me to ask the right question.
❤️ Family as a First Stewardship
More than once, I’ve been surprised.
I thought He might send me on a mission or give me a great task.
Instead, He whispered:
“Spend more time with your family.”
The Book of Mormon agrees:
“By small and simple things are great things brought to pass.” (Alma 37:6)
And in the Nemenhah:
“The Lord walks with those who walk with their people.”
It’s not less spiritual to hold your wife’s hand than to stand at a pulpit.
In His eyes, it’s the same work—if done in love.
🔍 The Simplicity of His Doctrine
Over the years, I’ve noticed something:
His instructions are short.
Clear.
No fluff.
“Be believing.”
“Lift them up.”
“Go forward.”
No committee meetings. No fifteen-step plans.
Just truth—enough to obey today.
👂 Hearing His Voice Above All
One of the strongest lessons He’s given me is this:
Don’t follow the robe.
Follow the Voice.
In Lehi’s dream, a man in a white robe led people into darkness.
The robe looked good.
The path looked official.
But the rod of iron—the real safety—was the living voice of the Savior.
I’ve learned the hard way:
Institutions, appearances, even well-meaning leaders can distract us.
But His voice will never mislead you.
🏞 Preparing for Zion
The Nemenhah says there will be a small flock in the last days
who still hear and follow the Peacemaker.
I believe this journal has been my training ground for that.
Day by day, He has been shaping my heart—
not through grand revelations,
but through the quiet disciplines of listening, obeying, and loving.
🤝 An Invitation
Friend, I’m not sharing this because I’m special.
I’m sharing it because He will do the same for you.
Write it down.
Ask the real questions.
Listen for the answers—even the silent ones.
And when He says,
“Spend more time with your family,”
or “Be believing,”
don’t go looking for something grander.
That is the grand thing.
