๐ A New Covenant Beyond Endless Deaths
๐ A New Covenant Beyond Endless Deaths
Lessons from Maymihts Ahkehkt, Chapter Six
๐ What Are the Nemenhah Records?
Many Latter-day Saints are surprised to learn that the story of the Book of Mormon did not end when Moroni buried the plates. There were other groups who left the main body of Nephites and Lamanites—led by prophets, seeking Zion, guided by the Peacemaker.
The Nemenhah Records are a collection of those writings. Preserved in caves and brought forth in our day, they tell the story of families and peoples who carried forward the covenant way of life.
One of those small books is The Book of Maymihts Ahkehkt. In Chapter Six, we get a glimpse of something breathtaking: the very reason a “New Covenant” was needed, and how it changes everything for us today.
๐ The World Before the New Covenant
The record explains that before Christ came, exaltation could only be obtained by the “continuation of deaths.” Spirits lived, died, and were reborn again—learning through endless cycles.
But this suffering spilled out beyond creation. All of heaven groaned under the weight.
The Father and Mother of Heaven, moved with compassion, offered something greater.
✨ The Gift of the New Covenant
Through the Peacemaker, they gave a new way:
No more endless cycles of death.
Exaltation possible in one mortal life.
Sealed not by men, but by the Spirit of Promise (Haymehnay).
This covenant redeemed suffering. It turned pain into progress, mortality into a single, sacred journey.
๐น Ayayfah’s Choice
Ayayfah (Eve) saw that the valley could not sustain the command to multiply. Out of love for her children, she chose to step forward.
She ate the fruit—not in rebellion, but in courage. She became the “Mother of All Living” because she sought life.
The record honors her. Far from being cursed, she opened the way for growth, experience, and redemption.
๐ฅ All Creation Is Alive
The chapter reveals that all creation is alive:
Stones, rivers, plants, animals—all have spirits.
They are “our relations.”
Some spirits sought only physical experience. Others longed to become like the Father and Mother.
Creation itself participates in the covenant drama. Stewardship is kinship, not ownership.
๐️ The Spirit of Promise
The record warns: no prophet, no angel, no church can give the final witness of truth.
Only the Spirit of Promise can.
Without the Haymehnay, covenants are broken.
With it, they are eternal.
This is why the New Covenant is unshakable.
⚖️ Lessons for Our Day
Don’t live in cycles of borrowed light. Christ’s covenant is enough.
Honor Ayayfah. She was courageous, not cursed.
See creation as alive. The earth is family, not property.
Seek the Spirit of Promise. Without it, no ordinance or covenant has power.
๐️ My Witness
This chapter speaks straight to the heart:
God is not a cruel taskmaster demanding endless suffering. He is a loving Parent offering a way home.
And the Peacemaker’s covenant is enough.
The New Covenant is here, alive, and it still beckons us today:
Come, receive My Spirit, and walk with Me.
