π️ Family, Faith, and the Noise of the World
π️ Family, Faith, and the Noise of the World
Hey friends,
The news is heavy right now. π― Charlie Kirk—conservative activist, debate-fighter, and bold voice—was gunned down in Utah. Reports say it was a rooftop sniper. Some even claim the shooter was LDS from St. George, but the facts aren’t all nailed down yet.
π€ Charlie and the Debates
I’ve watched Charlie’s debates. To some folks, he came off like a smart-aleck, maybe too sharp. But if you listened past the tone, his words often rang true. π He was sharp, informed, and not afraid to quote history, scripture, or stats.
Debates are like sports with words. π️ A contest of ideas. And like sports, it ought to have good sportsmanship. Sometimes truth stings. Sometimes it’s hard to hear. But free speech means we hear it anyway.
Paul said it plain: “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?” (Galatians 4:16). That’s what debates are supposed to do—stretch us toward truth, even when it cuts.
π¨π©π§π¦ Family Before Politics
Now here’s where it hits home. My own family is split—different views on politics, Trump, even on the church we grew up in. That’s okay. We don’t have to see eye-to-eye.
But I don’t want the world’s noise sneaking into our home. π ♂️ Politics, arguments, debates—they should never outweigh the love we’ve got as a family.
Nephi saw this in vision: “The multitude of the earth was gathered together to fight against the twelve apostles of the Lamb… and the power of the Lamb of God descended upon the saints… and they were armed with righteousness and with the power of God in great glory.” (1 Nephi 14:13–14).
That’s us. Family, faith, and Christ are the real battleground—not who wins a political argument.
π️ What Christians Should Do
Pray π —for Kirk’s family, for our leaders, for this country, even for the young man arrested. Jesus said, “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you” (Matthew 5:44).
Seek truth, not rumor π§ —Alma taught: “By small and simple things are great things brought to pass” (Alma 37:6). Truth comes quietly and steadily, not through rumor.
Speak truth with love π¬❤️ —Paul said, “Speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ” (Ephesians 4:15).
Hold on to free speech π’ —The Nemenhah Records remind us: “The Peacemaker did not bind us with the words of men, but taught us to seek His voice, that each might hear for themselves” (Tsihohnayah Ahkehkthihm 13). Free speech is not just political; it’s the spiritual right to hear God’s word unfiltered.
Family first π¨π©π§π¦ —Moroni (Mohrhohnahyah) warned in the Nemenhah: “Do not build up churches to get gain… but gather as one in love, for Zion is not built of gold but of hearts knit together.” (Mohrhohnahyah 4).
✨ Words to Remember
“We’ll always have different opinions … but Christ ought to be the one who prevails.”
“I’d rather stand with you in Jesus than be split apart by the noise of the world.”
π My Take
The world is moving fast. Rumors fly faster. And yes, prophecy warns that Christians in the last days will face persecution. Maybe this is one of those moments.
Jesus said, “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.” (John 15:18).
The Book of Mormon echoes: “The time soon cometh that the fulness of the wrath of God shall be poured out upon the children of men; for he will not suffer that the wicked shall destroy the righteous.” (1 Nephi 22:16).
And the Nemenhah say: “Be not afraid when the nations rise up against you, for the Lord preserves His remnant for a light in dark times.” (Tsihohnayah Ahkehkthihm 14).
So yes, the world is split. Yes, there will be persecution. But here’s what I know: Christ is real. Family is real. Love is real. Let’s not let outrage win. Let’s not let anger eat away what matters most.
