✨ I Glory in My Jesus #2
✨ I Glory in My Jesus
This is where the family began their story. They wrote this as their very first post, and it captures the heart of their journey.
๐ Their Words
๐ Their Message (Summary)
Six years ago, a faithful family stood at a crossroads. They had always sustained and supported the leaders of their church. But when a new prophet was sustained, they realized they had never actually asked the Lord for themselves. With integrity, they chose to fast, pray, and seek heaven’s witness.
The answer never came.
Rather than pretend, they turned in their temple recommends and stepped back from activity. They did not “oppose,” they did not protest — they simply could not answer questions dishonestly.
In the months that followed, life broke their hearts open. A dear friend passed away, and in the middle of grief and fasting the Lord poured out understanding. But when it came time to pray at the funeral, instructions came from local leaders: keep it short, no teaching. It was clear. Without a sustaining witness of the prophet, they were no longer trusted.
They were not angry. They held no bitterness. But they knew: their journey with Jesus must take a different road.
And so, they prayed. They fasted. They were watched. They were misunderstood. But they chose to stay true to their covenant with the Lord: to give Him everything.
Their path led them to land — a quiet refuge. Kneeling on the soil with their children, they asked the land itself if they were welcome. The answer came in dreams, visions, and peace. They knew: this was their next chapter.
๐ฅ My Reflection
When I read this, I feel the Spirit testify that discipleship is not about fitting into a system — it is about faithfulness to Jesus Christ Himself.
They tell of fasting and praying about President Nelson and receiving no answer. They chose honesty with the Lord and integrity in their temple questions. That integrity cost them comfort, reputation, and standing. But it gave them something far greater: a deeper walk with the Savior.
They tell of grief at the funeral of a friend, and how the Spirit gave them words to say — only to be silenced by human rules. They forgave, they released the pain, and they let Jesus heal their hearts.
They tell of being watched, misunderstood, even suspected of “apostasy.” But instead of lashing out, they let the Lord lead them to a new land — literally. They prayed on that land, asked its permission, and their son dreamed the land itself said yes. That’s not apostasy. That’s Zion.
๐ Scripture speaks here:
“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.” (Galatians 1:10)
“Nevertheless they did fast much and pray much, and they did worship God with exceedingly great joy.” (Alma 45:1)
“And my soul shall glory in the Lord; it shall rejoice in his salvation.” (Psalm 35:9)
Their story shows that obedience to God’s Spirit may set you at odds with men — but it always brings you closer to Jesus.
๐️ The Invitation
Their first post ends with these words: “Jesus Christ is our everything. We worship Him, and Him alone. It is only His good opinion of us that matters now.”
That’s the call of discipleship in every age. Will we give Him our all? Will we let His voice mean more than any other?
๐ฅ Today, let us glory in our Jesus.
