“The King is Coming or Global Warming?”
📝 Their Message (Summary)
Fear sells. That’s what one media director admitted: keep people afraid and ratings climb. Elections fade, so the next “crisis” is climate change.
The irony? The very things science brands as “climate crisis”—melting ice, seas heaving, earthquakes, famines—were foretold millennia ago as signs of the Last Days. But the world has forgotten prophecy and swallowed a narrative stripped of God.
The enemy’s tactics never change: divide into -ites, pit brother against sister, distract with noise and crisis until we crave a savior with solutions. Enter the counterfeit Christ, preaching “peace” and “unity,” but hollow at the core. His message will sound like Zion, but it will not be Zion.
🔥 My Reflection
C.S. Lewis pictured it well in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Under the Witch, it was “always winter and never Christmas.” Eternal stagnation. But when word spread, “Aslan is on the move,” the frost began to melt.
What if the earth itself is trembling, warming, heaving—not as “global crisis,” but as labor pains before the King returns?
Christ warned: “Lo, here is Christ…there is Christ”—false saviors will arise. Sometimes that’s politics, sometimes philosophy, sometimes even our own preparations. Like when I dreamed of chickens to save us from famine—only to see them diseased. The Spirit whispered: “You are trusting in things, not in Me.”
That pierced me. It’s so easy to say, “Here is Christ” in our plans, our science, our systems. But there is only One Savior.
📖 Scriptures & Symbols
Matthew 24 — wars, earthquakes, deception…“but don’t panic.”
D&C 45:33–42 — desolations, yet promises fulfilled, light breaking forth.
The Fig Tree (Mark 11:12–14) — lush leaves, but no fruit. Christ cursed it, stripping away Satan’s fig-leaf covering from Eden. Only He can restore access to the Tree of Life.
The Crown of Thorns — the curse of Adam, swallowed up in Christ’s flesh.
The lesson? Beware fruit out of season—knowledge offered without God. Beware coverings that look righteous but hide us from Him. The King will not be found in false leaves or counterfeit saviors.
🕊️ The Invitation
Ask yourself: are you trusting in “coops and chickens,” or in Christ?
When the world cries “crisis!” pause—whose voice is that?
Look not for counterfeit saviors, but for the fig leaves shooting forth—tender signs that summer is near, and the King is at the door.
Do not fear the thaw. Fear only unbelief.
