✨ Those Who Walk With Jesus — Part 36 ✨
Your Churches, Yea, Even Every One

📝 Their Message (Summary)
The Gospel was given to raise up a people who can endure His presence—that is Zion. Yet Joseph Smith mourned that even the Saints were “slow to understand.” Moroni foresaw our day and declared: “your churches, yea, even every one, have become polluted” (Mormon 8:36). His words cut to the heart: our pride, wealth-seeking, and hypocrisy have filled the holy church of God with iniquity.

Joseph himself declared there were liars, adulterers, and hypocrites among the Saints. Orson Pratt warned that God would plead with His people, even in high places, until Zion became clean before Him. History shows us: Zion has never been built by gradual improvement over generations. Enoch, Melchizedek, and Christ Himself established Zion when hearts were willing and the fulness of priesthood power was present.

If even the Nephites at Bountiful—who saw Christ, touched His wounds, and had their children blessed by Him—could fall away within four generations, how much more cautious must we be, now four generations after Joseph? Without renewing the covenant offered to us, our minds remain darkened (D&C 84:54–57). Until we repent and turn to Christ, Zion cannot come. Because Christ is Zion.

🔥 My Reflection
This convicts me deeply. It is too easy to think “we’re fine” because we have temples, meetings, and programs. But Moroni’s words echo: “your churches, even every one.” That includes mine. That includes me. I must not comfort myself with outward appearances of faithfulness while neglecting the weightier matters of the covenant.

Christ Himself is the standard. He is Zion. If I am content without Him—without His presence, His voice, His power—then I am content with less than the Gospel. That thought terrifies me.

🕊️ The Invitation

  • Ask: Am I part of a polluted church because I have tolerated pride, envy, or complacency in my own heart?

  • Pray:
“Lord Jesus, cleanse Your house. Begin with me. Tear down pride, hypocrisy, and empty religion. Give me the faith of Enoch, the humility of Alma, the devotion of disciples who are willing to endure Your presence. Be Zion in me.”

  • Seek to know the God of the Old and New Testament, the Living Christ of the Book of Mormon. He is the covenant. He is Zion.
