๐Ÿ•Š️ When Leaders Speak by the Spirit

๐Ÿ•Š️ When Leaders Speak by the Spirit

Every once in a while, a talk comes along that cuts through the noise. No hype. No slogans. No checklist religion. Just Spirit. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

That’s exactly what happened when President Henry B. Eyring stood and shared his humble testimony this General Conference. His story about wrestling through college physics wasn’t flashy—but it was real. And because it was real, the Spirit carried it.

I sat there listening and thought: “This is what it sounds like when someone is truly inspired.”

๐ŸŒฟ God Still Inspires Many Leaders

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again—because it’s important: many of the leaders in the Church are genuinely inspired men and women.

Sometimes we get so caught up in calling out institutional traditions, power structures, or doctrinal drift that we forget the other side of the story. The Lord hasn’t abandoned His people. He still whispers truth into humble hearts, and some leaders listen. ๐Ÿ•Š️

President Eyring is one of those voices. His message wasn’t about programs or statistics. It was about the Savior refining us through trials. It was deeply personal and quietly powerful.

When he said the Lord told him, “I’m proving you. But I am also with you,”—that hit me. That’s the kind of thing you don’t invent; you live it.

๐Ÿ“œ The Spirit Bears Witness of Truth, Not Titles

When I listen to leaders, I don’t lean on their titles to decide whether to believe. I lean on the Holy Ghost.

Some talks sound polished but feel hollow. Others, like this one, feel like living water. (John 7:38) You can almost feel the Lord nudging your heart saying, “Listen to this one.”

Moroni taught it clearly:

“By the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.”
(Moroni 10:5)

Titles don’t bring power. The Spirit does.

And that’s why when a leader speaks with real inspiration, it shines like a lantern on a dark trail. ๐ŸŒŒ๐Ÿช”

✨ Why This Talk Mattered

President Eyring reminded us that the trials we face are not punishments but evidence of God’s refining love. That’s a truth straight from scripture.

  • Job said, “When He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” (Job 23:10)

  • Paul said, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13)

  • Moroni testified from the loneliness of his last years, writing for us despite everything. (Moroni 10:3–5)

Eyring’s talk fit right in with these witnesses. No fanfare. Just pure testimony.

๐Ÿ’ฌ My Takeaway

Not every talk at Conference is equally inspired. Some are full of Spirit. Some are just policy recitations. Some are mixtures. That’s okay.

The Lord doesn’t require perfection in His servants to use them. He just needs a willing heart.

And when that happens—when the Lord’s Spirit flows through a mortal voice—you can feel it. That’s what happened with President Eyring this time.

I came away lifted, reminded, and grateful. ๐Ÿ™

“For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.”
(Proverbs 2:6)

๐Ÿ•ฏ️ Final Thought

Let’s not be so busy spotting what’s wrong that we miss what’s right. Some leaders are indeed speaking by the power of God. Some are bearing living testimony. Some are reminding us of truths that pierce the heart.

And when they do—we should recognize it, give thanks for it, and let that light strengthen us. ๐ŸŒฟ✨
