🕊️ THE ONE THING THAT MATTERS MOST
Hearing Him in the Quiet Places
🌅 INTRODUCTION — THE QUESTION OF A LIFETIME
Every religion has rules.
Every church has handbooks.
Every era builds its own traditions.
But at some point, a man finally stops and asks the real question:
“What is the ONE thing God actually wants from me in this life?”
I’ve spent decades trying to keep commandments, check boxes, fulfill expectations, and stay on the right path…
But in my late years, the Lord is making it very simple:
🕊️ “Hear Me.
Walk with Me.
Let Me lead you.”
This is the most important work of mortality.
Everything else is scaffolding.
Let me explain.
⭐ 1. WHAT THE BOOK OF MORMON SAYS
📖 “The Holy Ghost will show you ALL things what ye should do.”
— 2 Nephi 32:5
Not some things.
Not 50%.
Not what the handbook says.
ALL things.
The commandment is not:
follow a system
obey a culture
perform a program
keep the institution going
The commandment is:
Hear Him.
Christ Himself said:
📖 “What I say unto you, that do.”
— 3 Nephi 18:32
Not what they say.
Not what men say.
What HE says.
🌿 2. WHAT THE NEMENHAH RECORDS SAY
📜 “No steward may stand between you and your God.”
📜 “Hear the Peacemaker for yourself.”
The Nemenhah don’t list 600 rules.
They don’t create a complicated system.
Their whole religion is one sentence:
🕊️ “Walk with the Peacemaker.”
If you hear Him, you’ll know what to do.
If you’re at peace, you’re on the path.
That’s the heart of it.
🔥 3. WHAT PURE REVELATIONS SAYS
📜 “The voice of the Lord is the law.”
Not the feast days.
Not the fast days.
Not the Sabbath arguments.
Not the rulebooks.
Just Him.
His whisper.
His promptings.
His direction for you TODAY.
Everything else was scaffolding until you learned to hear Him.
🌄 4. WHAT JESUS SAID DIRECTLY
Martha was busy.
Mary was listening.
Christ said:
📖 “ONE thing is needful.”
— Luke 10:42
What’s the one thing?
🕊️ Sit with Him.
Listen to Him.
Let Him speak to your heart.
Everything else comes from that.
💛 5. WHAT MY WAYWALKING DREAM SAID
My first dream was simple:
“You be the patient.”
Not the teacher.
Not the fixer.
Not the persuader.
Not the man trying to wake others.
Just the patient.
Just… listen.
And let Him heal me.
That is hearing Him.
🌸 6. WHY THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT WORK
Because:
⭐ A man who hears the Lord becomes peaceful.
⭐ A man who hears the Lord becomes gentle.
⭐ A man who hears the Lord stops arguing.
⭐ A man who hears the Lord becomes a healer.
⭐ A man who hears the Lord becomes ready for his eternal mission.
In the next life, teaching is done by those who learned to listen in THIS one.
Hearing Him prepares you for everything to come.
🌙 7. SO WHAT DOES “HEARING HIM” LOOK LIKE?
Here’s the real test —
and it’s much simpler than people think.
You are hearing Him when:
🕊️ You feel peace instead of anger
🕊️ You soften instead of react
🕊️ You feel a gentle direction inside
🕊️ You let Him fight your battles
🕊️ You wake with dreams that teach
🕊️ You rest when you need rest
🕊️ You speak softly
🕊️ You feel warmth instead of tension
🕊️ You stop pushing truth on others
🕊️ You walk through the day with a quiet spirit
This is what He’s been teaching me these last weeks.
This is what prepares the soul.
🌿 8. WHAT WE SHOULD STOP WORRYING ABOUT
❌ Checklists
❌ Man-made commandments
❌ Handbooks
❌ Cultural pressure
❌ Who’s right and who’s wrong
❌ Trying to “wake” family members
❌ Trying to force spiritual timing
❌ Traditional Sabbath rules
❌ Religious guilt
❌ Loud religion
Christ didn’t ask for any of that.
He asked for your heart.
🌅 9. THE CLEAN ANSWER FOR MY POSTERITY
If any of my posterity ever read this —
kids, grandkids, great-grandkids —
this is what I want you to know:
🕊️ The most important thing you can ever do is learn to hear the voice of the Lord and follow it.
Everything else is noise.
Everything else is temporary.
Everything else is human scaffolding.
His voice is eternal.
His peace is real.
His love is the law.
Follow that voice,
and you will always be safe.
🙏 CONCLUSION — THE ONE THING NEEDFUL
I spent a lot of my life trying to get everything right…
and now the Lord is showing me the one thing that really matters:
⭐ **Hear Him.
Walk with Him.
Let Him lead your steps.
Let Him teach you peace.**
If you do that,
you are fulfilling the greatest purpose of this life.
And I’m grateful that in these later years…
I’m finally learning how.
