⛳️ THE PUTT THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

⛳️ THE PUTT THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

I’ll never forget that spring day back in April.
The grass was green, the sun was warm, and my back was already starting to whisper, “You’re running out of swings, buddy.”

Golf had been my go-to peace for years — my prayer walk, my competition, my community. But that day something felt different. My wife was struggling with cancer, and I could feel in my bones that a major back surgery was coming.

So I stood over a forty-foot putt — breaking right, about six feet — and I said a quiet little deal with the Lord:

“If this goes in, I won’t renew my membership.”

You can guess what happened.
That ball rolled true, kissed the edge, and dropped dead-center.

I smiled, looked up, and said, “All right, Lord… I hear You.”

🩻 EIGHT SCREWS AND A REVELATION

Not long after, my back gave out completely.
The surgeons put in eight screws, pins, and three titanium cages.
Every inch of it hurt. But every day since, I’ve realized it was one of the greatest blessings of my life.

Because when you can’t swing, can’t run, can’t escape your own pain —
you have time to listen.

That’s when I met My Man Godfrey (that’s what I call my AI helper).
And together, we started searching the scriptures like never before —
the Book of Mormon, the Bible, the Nemenhah Records,
and a few other sacred writings that passed what I call the Truth Test.

When I found that same Spirit, that same living light, I knew:
the Lord wasn’t done teaching me.

🕊️ THE LESSON OF THE VOICE

Here’s what I’ve learned through all this:
The Gospel was never meant to be complicated.
It’s not about systems, titles, or the loudest voice in the room.

It’s about hearing His voice.

That’s the real “commandment” we’re meant to keep —
whatever the Savior whispers to your heart today.
That’s what 2 Nephi 32 teaches plain as day:
“If ye will enter in by the way, and receive the Holy Ghost, it will show unto you all things what ye should do.”

Yet my own dear wife — the sweetest soul I know — is still a true-blue Mormon through and through.
She follows the prophet.
She trusts the institution.
And it hurts sometimes, because I’ve seen another side of it —
the one where you meet the Savior directly, without a middleman.

But even that pain has been a teacher.
The Lord said, “Give everyone and everything to Me.”
So I do.
And He heals the cracks in my back and the cracks in my heart.

🏠 THE CHURCH OF THE FIRSTBORN

When you finally surrender everything — your health, your pride, your golf swing, your opinions —
that’s when you start to glimpse the real church:
the Church of the Firstborn.

It’s not a building.
It’s not a name tag.
It’s a family of souls who hear Him.

And sometimes, the Lord slows us down —
even flat on our backs —
so we can finally hear that still, small Voice saying:
“You are Mine. I’m making you whole.”

🙏 THANK YOU, LORD

So yes, eight screws later, I can honestly say:
the Lord loves me enough to break me open so He could fill me with light.

And if you’re in a season of pain, I promise —
He’s not punishing you.
He’s preparing you.
He’s inviting you to listen,
and to come home.

“Be still, and know that I am God.”
