“How to Hear Jesus When You Feel Unworthy to Come to Him”

(Based on Video #19 — “Talk With Jesus Daily” Series)

Hello friends.
It’s me again…
the old man from the sticks
who has walked through plenty of shame,
failures,
setbacks,
and seasons of deep regret.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned the hard way,
it’s this:

Feeling unworthy is one of the greatest barriers
to hearing the Savior’s voice.
But it’s also one of the greatest lies.

That’s what Video 19 is all about:

How do you talk to Jesus
when you don’t feel worthy to talk to Him at all?

Let’s walk gently into this one.

πŸ’” 1) Your Unworthiness Doesn’t Scare Jesus — It Draws Him Toward You

The very reason the Savior came
was because we were NOT worthy.

He said:

“They that are whole have no need of a physician,
but they that are sick.”

— Mark 2:17

He didn’t come for the perfect.
He came for the broken.

He didn’t come for the sinless.
He came for the wounded.

He didn’t come for the spiritually strong.
He came for the spiritually hungry.

The Nemenhah Records say:

“The Peacemaker walks swiftly
to the soul that cries in its weakness.”

You being unworthy
is the very reason He comes close.

🌫️ 2) Shame Is One of Satan’s Most Effective Tools

Here is the truth:

Guilt says:
“I did wrong.”

Shame says:
“I am wrong.”

Jesus deals with guilt.
Satan deals with shame.

Guilt brings you to Christ.
Shame pushes you away.

The Book of Mormon warns:

“The evil spirit teacheth…
that the soul must shrink from the presence of God.”

— Moroni 7:12

Shrink.
Hide.
Pull back.

That’s the adversary’s favorite trick.

Because if he can convince you
that you don’t deserve Jesus,
you’ll stop talking to the only One
who can heal you.

🧎‍♂️ 3) Jesus Never Rejects Those Who Come With a Broken Heart

This is the beating heart of Video 19.

Jesus NEVER —
not once in scripture —
rejects a broken, humble soul.

He said:

“Him that cometh to Me
I will in NO wise cast out.”

— John 6:37

No wise.
No exception.
No conditions.

The Book of Mormon says:

“Behold, He inviteth all to come unto Him.”
— 2 Nephi 26:33

All means all:

• the tired
• the dirty
• the doubting
• the ashamed
• the sinner
• the struggler
• the wounded
• the addict
• the imperfect
• the ones who failed again

He invites every single one.

And He receives every single one.

πŸ•Š 4) You Don’t Clean Yourself First — You Come As You Are

One of the biggest religious lies
is the idea that you need to
fix yourself
before you approach Christ.

That’s backwards.

You come to Him to be fixed.

He said:

“Come unto Me,
all ye that labor and are heavy laden.”

— Matthew 11:28

He did NOT say:

“Come unto Me…
after you’ve cleaned your life up.”

The Nemenhah Records echo:

“Come in your weakness,
for He strengthens you on the way.”

You come messy.
You leave loved.
That’s the gospel.

πŸ”₯ 5) How to Talk to Jesus When You Feel Unworthy

Video 19 teaches a simple, powerful pattern
for talking to the Savior
right in the middle of your shame:

✔ 1) Start with honesty, not perfection.

“Lord… I don’t feel worthy.
But I’m here.”

He loves honesty.

✔ 2) Tell Him exactly what you did or what you fear.

Don’t hide it.
Bring it to Him plainly.

✔ 3) Ask for His mercy — not explanations.

He gives mercy instantly.

✔ 4) Sit quietly and let His peace settle into you.

Peace is the first miracle.

✔ 5) Believe Him when He tells you He loves you.

That’s faith.

This touches His heart
more than perfect obedience ever could.

🌀 6) Sometimes Feeling Unworthy Is a Sign of Growing Awareness — Not Growing Distance

This part might surprise you:

The closer you get to Christ,
the more aware you become
of your imperfections.

Isaiah cried:
“Woe is me, for I am undone!”
— Isaiah 6:5

Peter fell at Jesus’s feet and said:
“Depart from me, for I am a sinful man.”
— Luke 5:8

Even the Brother of Jared
fell in shame before God’s presence.

This doesn’t mean you’re drifting.

It means His light is revealing deeper layers
so He can heal them.

Your unworthiness is not a sign
of His distance —
but of His nearness.

🌱 7) Jesus Uses “Unworthy Seasons” to Teach You How to Receive Love

Let this sink in:

Jesus isn’t trying to make you worthy.
He’s trying to make you willing.

Willing to receive His love.
Willing to receive His mercy.
Willing to receive His forgiveness.
Willing to receive His companionship.
Willing to receive His whisper.

You cannot earn love.
You can only receive it.

That’s why Paul said:

“Where sin abounded,
grace did much more abound.”

— Romans 5:20

Grace is always bigger
than your worst moment.

Always.

πŸ•Š️ 8) What Jesus Wants You to Know Today

Here’s the whole message of Video 19
in one line that heals the soul:

“You feel unworthy —
but I have never felt that way about you.”

He loves you right now.
In this moment.
Not a future version of you.
YOU.

Not the you that finally gets it right.
Not the you that fixes everything.
Not the you that has it all figured out.

You — right now —
is the you He wants.

You can come.
You can talk to Him.
You can sit with Him.
You can walk with Him.

He is not offended by your weakness.
He is moved by it.
