πΏ THE EARTH DOESN’T NEED SAVING — WE DO
πΏ THE EARTH DOESN’T NEED SAVING — WE DO
A Walk Through Modern Panic, Ancient Wisdom, and the Peacemaker’s Way
πͺΆ “Peace is the Law by which we live.”
— Ahkuh Wihnayihm, Chapter Six
Well, my friend, the world has been ending for a long time.
At least that’s what they keep telling us.
Al Gore told us it would all be over in a few years. Greta Thunberg told us we “stole her childhood” and the oceans were coming to swallow Ohio. Politicians shout that we’ve only got “three years left” — never mind that they said the same thing 40 years ago.
And you and I sit here with our hot chocolate , looking out the window, saying…
“Huh. Looks about the same.”
Now don’t get me wrong — the Earth is changing. She always has. The Book of Mormon talks about it, the prophets saw it, and the Nemenhah record it in sacred detail.
But here’s the twist:
π The Nemenhah never talk about “saving the planet.”
They talk about saving the people, so the people will stop hurting the planet.
That's a very different thing.
π 1. Modern Activism Is Fear-Based — Nemenhah Stewardship Is Covenant-Based
Political environmentalism teaches us to panic:
“The world is ending!”
“The ice caps are gone!”
“Everybody recycle your soda cans or we’re doomed!”
Meanwhile, the Nemenhah say something very different:
πͺΆ “Walk gently on Mother Earth, that you do not overtax Her.”
— Ahkuh Wihnayihm 2:4–6
Not panic.
Not shouting.
Not marching in the streets.
Just… relationship.
Because the Nemenhah don’t see the Earth as a resource.
They see Her as a being — a Mother who nourishes, teaches, and suffers.
And you don’t “save” your mother with political bills and screaming signs.
You honor her.
You take care of her.
You listen.
πΎ 2. High-Tech Farming Doesn’t Mean High Wisdom
This one hits home.
We look at giant harvesters, GPS tractors, and drones spraying fields and think:
“See? We know how to care for the land.”
The Nemenhah would pat us kindly on the shoulder and say:
“No, you know how to EXTRACT from the land.”
Big difference.
We can harvest 10,000 acres in a day.
But can we feel when the soil is tired?
Do we know when the water is grieving?
Do we sense the imbalance in the forest?
The Nemenhah did.
And they warned:
πͺΆ “Cities that grow too large destroy the land.”
— Ahkuh Wihnayihm 2:5–7
Maynihntah fell because of it.
This isn’t about tractors.
It’s about spiritual blindness.
π₯ 3. The Book of Mormon Echoes the Same Warning
The Nephites weren’t destroyed because they lacked irrigation.
They were destroyed because they lacked humility.
Ether 14–15
When the land is overrun with bloodshed, “the land is covered with a curse.”
Helaman 12
The Earth responds to the pride of men — mountains move, rivers change, destruction answers wickedness.
Mormon 2:10
The people mourned, but not with godly sorrow. They wanted relief, not repentance.
The Nemenhah say the same thing:
πͺΆ “Peace is the Law, and without peace, the Earth cannot bear the people.”
— Ahkuh Wihnayihm 6:28–29
The Earth does not rebel because we failed to recycle.
She rebels because we failed to repent.
πΏ 4. The Future Crisis Isn’t About Running Out — It’s About Imbalance
Greta says the ice is melting.
The Nemenhah say:
πͺΆ “There shall come a day when a new way shall prevail… and it shall not be the Way of Peace.”
— Ahkuh Wihnayihm 6:34–35
It’s not a climate crisis.
It's a spiritual crisis.
Not a shortage of resources.
A shortage of reverence.
Not a failing planet.
A failing people.
π️ 5. So How Do We Actually “Care for the Earth”?
The Nemenhah answer beautifully:
✔️ Keep your community small
✔️ Don’t overuse the land
✔️ Take only what you need
✔️ Share everything
✔️ Live in consecration
✔️ Dance with gratitude
✔️ Hear the Peacemaker’s voice
✔️ Recognize the Earth as Mother
✔️ Seek peace in all things
It’s not political.
It’s not scientific.
It’s not economic.
It’s covenant.
It’s walking with the Creator and blessing the Creation.
π² 6. And Here’s the Surprise: The Earth Already Has a Savior
And it’s not Al Gore.
It’s not Greta.
It’s not carbon taxes.
It is:
Ayahtsuhway Sahnhehmpeht — the Peacemaker — Jesus Christ.
He is the One who reconciles Heaven and Earth.
He is the One who heals the Creation.
He is the One who brings Zion — a people in harmony with the land.
So while the world panics…
…you and I can breathe deep and walk quietly.
Because the Nemenhah answer isn’t:
“Save the Earth!”
It is:
“Walk with the Earth, and She will walk with you.”
“Walk with the Peacemaker, and He will heal all things.”
