πΏ A Quiet Resolution for the New Year
πΏ A Quiet Resolution for the New Year
(What I’m Carrying Forward — and What I’m Setting Down)
As a new year begins, I don’t feel the need to make big promises.
No grand declarations.
No lists to conquer.
No pressure to become something new.
This last year already did its work.
It slowed me down.
It softened me.
It taught me how to listen again.
So instead of resolutions, I’m choosing intentions —
simple ones, born out of experience rather than ambition.
π️ What This Last Year Taught Me
This past year brought surgery, recovery, and forced stillness.
But more than that, it brought clarity.
I learned that:
Healing doesn’t come from striving
Repentance feels like release, not punishment
Silence can be obedience
Rest is not laziness — it’s alignment
Truth doesn’t need to chase anyone
Most of all, I learned that staying close to Jesus matters more than explaining everything about Him.
π What I’m Choosing to Do This Year
As the year turns, here’s what I’m gently committing to:
• Walk, not rush
• Listen before speaking
• Speak only when invited
• Create without pressure or deadlines
• Rest without guilt
• Love without agenda
I’ll keep making videos.
I’ll keep writing.
I’ll keep sharing what I’ve learned.
But not to convince.
Not to argue.
Not to correct the world.
Only to bear witness — quietly.
π« What I’m Choosing Not to Do
Just as important are the things I’m laying down:
• I’m not trying to wake everyone up
• I’m not chasing urgency
• I’m not measuring fruit
• I’m not debating strangers
• I’m not carrying responsibility for other people’s timing
If something pulls me away from peace,
it doesn’t belong in this year.
π± How This Shapes the Videos Ahead
If you’ve watched my recent videos, you may notice the shift.
They aren’t louder.
They aren’t sharper.
They aren’t rushed.
They’re slower.
Softer.
More spacious.
That’s intentional.
I’m not here to lead people somewhere fast.
I’m here to help them hear Jesus more clearly — at their own pace.
π‘ What Matters Most Now
This year taught me to notice what I once rushed past:
My wife.
My family.
Quiet mornings.
Simple conversations.
A body that’s healing slowly — and faithfully.
Those aren’t distractions from the work.
They are the work.
π️ A Simple New Year’s Prayer
So as this year begins, my prayer is uncomplicated:
Lord, keep me close.
Help me hear You clearly.
Let me move only when You move.
And let whatever grows… grow in peace.
That’s it.
No striving.
No pressure.
Just walking forward — together.
—
Just an old man from the sticks…
grateful for a year that taught him how to listen.
