If you haven’t watched the video yet, I invite you to start there.
This post is for those moments when you want to rest with the thought a little longer and let the scriptures gently support it.
Spiritual tiredness is real.
It doesn’t always come from sin.
It doesn’t always come from doubt.
And it doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong.
Sometimes it comes from trying too hard for too long.
Many sincere believers reach a point where they feel worn down — not by wickedness, but by effort.
Effort to understand.
Effort to stay faithful.
Effort to keep up.
And eventually, the soul says, I’m tired.
๐ฑ Jesus Never Asked You to Carry Everything
One of the quiet truths of the gospel is this:
Jesus never asked us to carry the whole load.
He said it plainly:
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
(Matthew 11:28)
Notice what He didn’t say.
He didn’t say, try harder.
He didn’t say, push through.
He didn’t say, figure it all out first.
He said, come.
Spiritual tiredness is often an invitation — not a failure.
๐ Walking With Jesus Includes Rest
When Jesus walked the earth, He noticed when people were worn down.
He pulled His disciples aside.
He led them away from the crowds.
He valued rest as much as work.
“Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while.”
(Mark 6:31)
Rest is not quitting.
Rest is trusting Him enough to stop striving.
๐ฟ The Book of Mormon: Strength Comes After Humility
The Book of Mormon teaches that strength doesn’t come from pushing harder — it comes from yielding.
The Lord said to Moroni:
“I give unto men weakness that they may be humble… then will I make weak things become strong.”
(Ether 12:27)
Spiritual tiredness often exposes our limits.
And that’s not a bad thing.
Limits teach humility.
Humility invites grace.
Grace restores strength.
๐ฅ The Nemenhah Records: Rest Is Part of the Way
In the teachings of the Nemenhah, the elders speak of walking the Way, not running it.
The Peacemaker does not demand constant exertion.
He teaches balance.
The Way includes seasons of gathering, seasons of service — and seasons of rest and healing.
Those who walk wisely learn when to move forward
and when to sit down and breathe.
The Haymehnay (Holy Spirit) does not drive the soul.
It restores it.
๐ฑ When You Feel Like You’re Running on Empty
If you’re feeling spiritually tired right now, consider this:
• You may not need more information
• You may not need a new teacher
• You may not need a stronger effort
You may need permission to rest.
Isaiah spoke to people exactly like this:
“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”
(Isaiah 40:29)
God gives strength —
He doesn’t extract it.
๐️ Walking With Jesus Means Letting Him Set the Pace
One of the quiet fruits of walking with Jesus is learning to slow down.
You stop measuring yourself against others.
You stop trying to keep up spiritually.
You stop feeling guilty for needing rest.
Jesus doesn’t drag tired people.
He walks beside them.
If you’re tired, stay close.
If you’re weary, sit down with Him.
That’s still walking.
๐ฟ A Gentle Word
If all you can do right now is hold on quietly —
that is enough.
If your prayers are short —
that is enough.
If your faith feels simple —
that is enough.
Jesus knows how tired sheep walk.
And He doesn’t shame them for it.
