If you haven’t watched the video yet, I suggest starting there.
This blog is for seasons when others seem to be moving faster, understanding more, or progressing further—and you’re left wondering if you’re somehow lagging behind.
And as always, let me say this gently at the start:
If you have questions, or if this touches a place of discouragement or comparison, please feel free to ask. I don’t have all the answers—but I care, and I’ll do my best to respond as soon as I can.
You don’t have to carry this alone.
There are moments in the walk with Jesus
when you feel like everyone else is ahead of you.
They seem clearer.
More confident.
More certain.
And you’re still walking slowly,
still unsure,
still learning.
That can quietly wear on the heart.
π± God Does Not Measure Your Walk Against Others
Comparison is a heavy burden,
and Jesus never placed it on His followers.
When Peter wondered about another disciple’s path,
Jesus answered him simply:
“What is that to thee? follow thou me.”
(John 21:22)
Your walk is not graded on speed.
It is guided by relationship.
Jesus walks at the pace your soul needs.
π The Kingdom Is Not a Race
Scripture reminds us again and again
that God works on a different timetable.
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”
(Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Some seasons are for learning.
Some for resting.
Some for waiting.
None of them mean you’re behind.
πΏ The Book of Mormon: God Meets People Where They Are
The Book of Mormon honors people
who grow at different speeds.
Alma taught that faith begins small
and grows gradually:
“It beginneth to be delicious to me.”
(Alma 32:28)
Growth is not instant.
It unfolds quietly,
often unnoticed at first.
If your faith feels slow but real,
it is still growing.
π₯ The Nemenhah Records: Each Walker Has a Different Pace
The Nemenhah teachings speak clearly about this.
The elders teach that the Way is walked
according to each person’s strength and readiness.
No two walkers move the same.
No two paths unfold identically.
The Peacemaker does not hurry the soul.
The Haymehnay (Holy Spirit) guides each person
according to what they can carry—
not according to comparison.
π± When You Feel Pressured to Catch Up
If you find yourself thinking:
• “Everyone else understands more than I do”
• “I should be further along by now”
• “Why am I still here?”
Pause gently.
The Psalmist prayed:
“The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me.”
(Psalm 138:8)
God is not finished with you.
And He is not late.
π️ Faithfulness Is Staying With Him, Not Speeding Ahead
One of the quiet freedoms of walking with Jesus
is learning that you don’t have to keep up.
You don’t have to rush insight.
You don’t have to force growth.
You don’t have to match someone else’s pace.
If you are still turning toward Him…
still listening…
still walking honestly…
You are exactly where you need to be.
And if this feeling of falling behind weighs on you,
or you want to talk it through,
please feel free to ask. I’ll listen, and I’ll try to help where I can.
Sometimes perspective alone
can lift a heavy burden.
πΏ A Gentle Word
If you feel like you’re falling behind,
take heart.
Jesus is not ahead of you, waiting impatiently.
He is beside you.
And He walks at the speed of love.
