๐Ÿชถ LETTER FOUR

Build More Than You Tear Down

Kids,

There will be times in your life when you see things clearly.

You will notice flaws.

You will see inconsistencies.

You will recognize where people, systems, or traditions fall short.

That clarity can be a gift.

But here’s what I learned:

Seeing what’s wrong is not the same as building what’s right.

It’s easy to criticize.

It’s harder to create.

There was a season in my life when I saw things I hadn’t seen before.

Some of it was uncomfortable.

Some of it was disappointing.

But I learned something important.

If all you do after waking up is point at what’s broken…

you will slowly become bitter.

But if you take what you’ve learned and begin building something healthier…

you will become peaceful.

Christ did not come merely to expose darkness.

He came to build light.

He didn’t spend His ministry yelling about Rome.

He healed.

He taught.

He forgave.

He gathered small circles of people and showed them how to live differently.

That pattern matters.

If you ever see hypocrisy…

be sincere.

If you ever see pride…

be humble.

If you ever see control…

choose freedom in Christ.

If you ever see fear…

build trust.

You don’t overcome broken systems by constant outrage.

You overcome them by living something better.

Quietly.

Faithfully.

I learned that Zion is not built through argument.

It’s built in homes.

In marriages.

In forgiveness.

In shared meals.

In honest conversations.

In repentance.

Zion is not noise.

It’s alignment.

It begins with one surrendered heart.

Then another.

Then another.

There is a temptation, when you see clearly, to spend all your energy proving others wrong.

I’ve felt that pull.

But I can tell you now —

Peace came when I stopped trying to win and started trying to live rightly.

You don’t need to defeat everything you disagree with.

You only need to become steady in Christ.

Light doesn’t argue with darkness.

It simply shines.

If you ever wake up to something new…

Pause.

Ask the Lord what He wants you to build next.

A stronger marriage?

A kinder heart?

A healthier home?

A more honest prayer life?

Start there.

That’s how real change begins.

Love,

Dad
