75 ๐Ÿชถ LETTER FIVE VIDEO ---- Repentance Is Relief

๐Ÿชถ LETTER FIVE

Repentance Is Relief

Kids,

I want to tell you something I didn’t understand when I was younger.

Repentance is not punishment.

It is relief.

For years, I thought repentance was mostly about guilt.

About being corrected.

About being reminded where I fell short.

And yes, there is conviction in it.

But conviction is not condemnation.

There’s a difference.

There was a season when the Lord showed me parts of myself I hadn’t wanted to face.

Pride.

Control.

Fear.

Subtle things.

Not dramatic sins.

Just stubborn places in my heart.

And when I saw them, I had a choice.

Defend myself.

Or surrender them.

When I surrendered them…

something surprising happened.

Peace came.

Not shame.

Not humiliation.

Peace.

Repentance felt like setting down a heavy backpack I didn’t realize I had been carrying.

It felt like exhaling after holding my breath for years.

It felt like alignment.

The Lord was not standing over me with accusation.

He was inviting me forward.

“Come unto me… and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

Rest is the fruit of real repentance.

The world teaches you to protect your image.

Protect your ego.

Protect your position.

But heaven teaches something different.

Confess quickly.

Adjust quickly.

Apologize quickly.

Let go quickly.

Pride is exhausting.

Humility is freeing.

If you ever find yourself resisting correction…

Pause.

Ask yourself:

What am I afraid of losing?

Reputation?

Control?

Being right?

Most of the time, what we’re defending isn’t worth the weight.

I can tell you this honestly:

Some of the sweetest moments of my life came after I surrendered something I didn’t want to surrender.

After I stopped explaining myself.

After I stopped justifying.

After I said,

“Lord, take this from me.”

And He did.

Repentance is not God pushing you down.

It’s God lifting something off you.

Don’t delay it.

Don’t dramatize it.

Don’t fear it.

The quicker you yield, the lighter you live.

And lightness is a gift.

Love,

Dad
