๐ Video 81 — Where This All Started
๐ Where This All Started
There wasn’t a big moment.
No lightning bolt.
No voice from heaven.
No dramatic turning point.
It started a lot quieter than that.
Just… a few questions.
๐ฑ The First Little Shift
For most of my life, I wasn’t searching for anything new.
I had my routines.
My beliefs.
My way of doing things.
Church was part of that.
Golf was a big part of that too.
Life was… pretty set.
But somewhere along the way, something small started happening.
Not rebellion.
Not anger.
Just quiet thoughts like:
“Wait… why do we do that?”
๐ง Questions That Wouldn’t Go Away
At first, I brushed them off.
You don’t go digging into things you’ve trusted your whole life.
You just keep moving.
But those questions didn’t leave.
They came back.
Not louder…
Just steadier.
And more honest.
❤️ Close to Home
One of the things that really hit me…
was realizing how much I didn’t actually know.
Even in my own home.
My wife—faithful, devoted, all in—
didn’t even know some of the deeper parts of Church history.
Things that, once you see them, you can’t really unsee.
And I remember thinking:
“How is that possible?”
Not in a critical way.
Just… honestly.
That was one of those moments where something inside me shifted.
๐ The Turn Toward Scripture
So I started doing something simple.
I started reading differently.
Not just to check a box.
Not just to finish a chapter.
But to actually look.
To ask:
“What is this really saying?”
That’s when something interesting happened.
The scriptures started opening up.
Not because I got smarter…
But because I got more honest.
๐ Finding Something I Wasn’t Looking For
I wasn’t trying to prove anything.
I wasn’t trying to leave anything.
I was just… searching.
And what I found wasn’t an argument.
It wasn’t a movement.
It wasn’t a new system.
It was something much simpler than that.
It was Christ.
Not the version I had always talked about…
But the One you actually learn to hear.
๐ A Different Kind of Listening
That’s when everything started changing.
Not overnight.
But steadily.
I started realizing something:
You can be surrounded by religion…
and still not be listening to Him.
You can be busy doing good things…
and still miss His voice.
That was a hard one for me.
Because I had done a lot of “good things.”
๐งญ This Was Never About Leaving
Let me be clear about something.
This journey didn’t start because I wanted to walk away from anything.
It started because I wanted to understand.
And somewhere along the way…
understanding turned into something deeper.
A relationship.
๐️ What This Turned Into
Over time, this turned into:
• writing things down
• making sense of what I was learning
• sharing a few thoughts
• recording a couple of videos
Not because I had it all figured out.
But because something inside me said:
“Don’t lose this.”
๐ฃ Looking Back Now
When I look back at where this all started…
it feels small.
Almost insignificant.
Just a few quiet questions.
But those questions led me somewhere I didn’t expect.
Not to a new system.
Not to a new identity.
But back to something simple.
✨ If You’re At That Same Place
If you’re starting to feel those little questions…
Don’t panic.
Don’t force it.
Don’t run from it either.
Just be honest.
That’s all I did.
๐ Final Thought
If I had to sum up where this all started, it would be this:
It didn’t begin with answers.
It began with honesty.
And somewhere along the way…
honesty made space for Him.
