πͺΆ WHAT DESTROYS ZION (THE SAME PATTERN IN EVERY RECORD)**
πͺΆ WHAT DESTROYS ZION (THE SAME PATTERN IN EVERY RECORD)**
*A warning found in Isaiah, the Book of Mormon, and the Nemenhah teachings*
---
π₯ **Something the Scriptures Warn Us About**
In the last few videos we talked about something hopeful.
We talked about **how Zion begins**.
We saw that Zion usually begins quietly:
• small groups
• humble people
• families learning to live the teachings of Christ
But every sacred record also warns us about something else.
Zion doesn’t just appear.
**It can collapse.**
And the scriptures are very clear about **why**.
---
π **Isaiah Saw the Pattern**
The prophet **Isaiah** warned that pride would destroy societies.
He wrote:
> “The lofty looks of man shall be humbled,
> and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down.”
> — Isaiah 2:11
Pride always leads to the same problems:
• people chasing power
• leaders controlling others
• wealth being hoarded
• the poor being forgotten
And once those things begin…
Zion disappears.
---
π **The Book of Mormon Shows the Same Cycle**
One of the most repeated warnings in the **Book of Mormon** is this:
When people become prosperous…
**they begin to forget God.**
You see this pattern again and again.
For example:
> “Because of their exceedingly great riches…
> they began to be lifted up in the pride of their eyes.”
> — Helaman 3:36
And when pride enters a society, something else follows.
Division.
Competition.
Classes.
Eventually the people stop seeing each other as brothers and sisters.
They begin seeing each other as rivals.
That is the moment Zion begins to fall apart.
---
πΏ **The Nemenhah Records Explain the Collapse of Zion**
In **The Lamentation of Mehnipahsihts**, the daughter gives a powerful explanation of why Zion collapsed among her people.
She does not blame enemies.
She does not blame war.
She blames something much deeper.
The people slowly drifted into:
• hierarchy
• domination
• accumulation of wealth
• controlling others
In other words…
They stopped living the sacred path.
And when that happens, Zion cannot survive.
---
⚖️ **The Hidden Danger of Success**
This is something many people do not realize.
Zion rarely collapses during times of hardship.
It usually collapses **during times of prosperity**.
Why?
Because prosperity can quietly create pride.
And pride slowly replaces humility.
The scriptures warn about this again and again.
---
πͺΆ **The Real Battle Is in the Heart**
The real struggle is not between nations.
The real struggle is **inside the human heart**.
Every person has to choose:
Will I live in humility?
Or will I chase power and recognition?
That decision determines whether Zion grows…
or whether it fades away.
---
π **Why the Remnant Matters**
This is why the scriptures talk so much about the **remnant**.
The remnant are the people who remember the path.
They remember humility.
They remember compassion.
They remember stewardship.
They remember how to live with the Creator.
And because of that…
They become the seeds of Zion again.
---
πͺΆ **A Quiet Warning for Our Time**
The world today celebrates:
• influence
• power
• wealth
• status
But the scriptures whisper something very different.
The things the world celebrates…
are often the very things that destroy Zion.
That’s why the sacred path always returns to something simple:
Humility.
Service.
Love.
When people live that way…
Zion can grow again.
Even in a broken world.
