Why Zion Often Appears at the Center

Why Zion Often Appears at the Center

๐Ÿงญ Opening

Over the last several videos we’ve been looking at something called chiasmus.

Ancient mirror patterns that sometimes appear in sacred writings.

We saw it in the story of Alma’s conversion.

We saw hints of it in King Benjamin’s sermon.

We talked about the appearance of Christ in 3 Nephi.

And recently we looked at a much larger structure in the Nemenhah writings called The Lamentation of Mehnipahsihts.

And something interesting keeps appearing.

The center of these structures often points to the most important spiritual message.

๐Ÿ“œ The Center of Alma’s Story

In Alma’s conversion story, the center moment is when he remembers the teachings about Jesus Christ and cries out for mercy.

Everything in the story builds toward that moment.

And everything afterward reflects the change that happens because of it.

Christ sits at the center.

๐ŸŒฟ The Center of King Benjamin’s Sermon

In King Benjamin’s great sermon, the center moment is when the people fall to the ground and cry out:

“Have mercy… and apply the atoning blood of Christ.”

Once again, the structure points to Christ and repentance.

The Center of the Lamentation Record

When I studied the structure of The Lamentation of Mehnipahsihts, the center teaching pointed toward something closely related.

The path toward Zion.

A society built on:

  • peace

  • stewardship

  • humility

  • and harmony with the Creator.

๐Ÿชถ A Talking Feather Thought

When I stepped back and looked at these patterns, something occurred to me.

It seems that many sacred writings are designed to guide the reader toward the heart of the message.

Not just through the words.

But through the structure itself.

And very often that heart points to the same place.

Christ.

And the kind of world that can exist when people truly follow Him.

๐ŸŒฑ Christ and Zion

In many sacred traditions, Christ represents the personal path of transformation.

Zion represents the community that grows when many people follow that path together.

So it’s not surprising that these two ideas often sit at the center of sacred teachings.

๐ŸŒ„ The Invitation

For me, discovering these patterns didn’t make scripture feel more complicated.

It actually made it feel more meaningful.

Almost like the writers were quietly guiding readers toward the heart of what really matters.

Christ.

Repentance.

Peace.

And the possibility of Zion.

๐ŸŒฟ About the Nemenhah Records

Many readers have asked about the Nemenhah Records.

The Nemenhah Records are a collection of writings that claim to preserve teachings, history, prophecy, and spiritual instruction among indigenous peoples of the Americas. Whether you are simply curious or deeply interested, I encourage you to study them for yourself and compare them with the scriptures you already know.

The records are available through Amazon and can be found by searching:

๐Ÿ” Nemenhah Records
๐Ÿ” Phillip Cloudpiler Landis

As with all things, I encourage you to seek the guidance of the Holy Ghost and allow the Lord to be your teacher.

๐ŸŒฟ Sunday Study Group

Several of us gather each Sunday morning to read and discuss the Nemenhah Records together. We come from different backgrounds, ask honest questions, and seek to learn from one another while keeping Christ at the center of the discussion.

If you would like information about joining the study group, simply leave a comment below and let me know. Be sure to include a way for me to contact you, and I will be happy to reach out.
