πͺΆ The Nemenhah Records & The Book of Mormon --- Part 1
A Quiet Witness That These Stories Are Still Alive
There’s something I’ve come to see over the years…
The Book of Mormon isn’t just a history book.
π It’s a warning.
π It’s a pattern.
π It’s a guide on how to build Zion — and how people lose it.
And then…
Years later…
I found something that stopped me in my tracks.
π The Nemenhah Records.
Not because someone told me to believe them.
But because I tested them.
And more importantly…
π I watched what they produced in people.
π️ First — The Simple Way to Look at This
Here’s the easiest way I can explain it:
π The Book of Mormon = the warning
π The Nemenhah Records = what happened to the people who listened
One shows you the pattern.
The other shows you a people trying to actually live it.
π The Book of Mormon Pattern (We All Know This)
We’ve read it our whole lives:
- Preaching repentance
- Entire groups converted
- People laying down weapons
- God fighting their battles
- Then pride returns…
- Then collapse
One of the most powerful stories?
π The Anti-Nephi-Lehies
They made a covenant:
- They buried their weapons
- They refused to fight
- They chose God over survival
And the Lord protected them.
πͺΆ What the Nemenhah Records Claim
Now here’s where it gets interesting…
The Nemenhah records describe a people who:
π Lived that same covenant lifestyle
π Chose peace instead of war
π Avoided conflict instead of dominating it
π Let the Lord defend them
Instead of becoming a military power…
π They became a hidden people
- Small villages
- Scattered settlements
- Quiet survival
- Moving when needed
Not trying to rule…
π Just trying to remain clean.
π A Living Continuation (Not Just a Story)
According to the records:
- These people spread through North America
- Small communities existed across the West
- They stayed out of the big conflicts between Nephites, Lamanites, and secret combinations
And instead of rising to power…
π They stayed out of the spotlight.
That alone matches something the Book of Mormon warns about:
π Pride destroys nations
π Power corrupts people
π Zion doesn’t survive through dominance
π₯ The Deeper Connection I Couldn’t Ignore
What caught me wasn’t geography.
It wasn’t archaeology.
It wasn’t debates.
It was this:
π The spirit of the people described
They weren’t trying to win.
They were trying to stay close to the Savior.
And that’s when something clicked for me…
π️ A Personal Moment (Why This Matters to Me)
There was a time…
When things were tense.
Riots.
Division.
Fear.
And I had a real question in my heart:
π “What would I actually do if it came to violence?”
That’s not a theory question.
That’s a real one.
And when I came across these teachings:
π “Do not take life unless the Lord commands it directly.”
It stopped me.
Not in a fearful way.
In a clarifying way.
Because suddenly…
π This wasn’t about survival
π It was about trust
π©π§ Something Else That Stood Out
This part hit me deeper than I expected.
In the Nemenhah culture:
π Mothers had a central role
π Women were lifegivers and decision influencers
π Leadership wasn’t domination — it was stewardship
And I couldn’t ignore the contrast:
- When societies elevate power → they fracture
- When they center life, family, and nurturing → they stabilize
That pattern shows up everywhere…
Even outside scripture.
π Where the Book of Mormon Warns — The Nemenhah Try to Live It
Let me say this simply:
The Book of Mormon shows us:
π What happens when people fail to live the covenant
The Nemenhah Records describe:
π A people trying to hold onto it quietly
Not perfectly.
Not loudly.
But intentionally.
π§ What About All the Other Claims?
There are things in the Nemenhah records that go beyond what people are used to:
- Expanded histories
- Cultural continuity
- Additional traditions
- Broader narratives about Christ and His followers
And here’s how I handle that:
π I don’t force it
π I don’t defend it
π I don’t argue it
I use one test:
π Does it bring me closer to Jesus Christ?
That’s it.
πͺΆ The Talking Feather (What Changed in Me)
Somewhere along the way…
I changed.
Not all at once.
But steadily.
And the best way I can describe it is this:
π I stopped trying to convince people
π And started trying to live in peace
The Nemenhah call it:
πͺΆ The Talking Feather
Whoever holds it:
- Speaks calmly
- Speaks truthfully
- Speaks without force
- Speaks with love
No pressure.
No argument.
No proving.
Just…
π Offering truth when someone is ready
That resonated with me more than anything.
π So Where Do I Stand Now?
I’m not trying to join another system.
I’m not trying to build a following.
I’m not trying to tear anything down.
π I just want to walk with Christ.
If something helps me do that…
I keep it.
If it doesn’t…
I set it aside.
Simple as that.
π️ Final Thought
You don’t have to accept the Nemenhah records.
You don’t have to agree with me.
But here’s what I would invite anyone to do:
π Look at the pattern
π Look at the fruit
π Look at your own life
And ask:
π “What actually brings me closer to Him?”
Because in the end…
That’s the only thing that matters.
