πΏ Something Beautiful About the Savior’s Birth I Had Never Considered
πΏ Something Beautiful About the Savior’s Birth I Had Never Considered
πΊ September 11 — A Quiet Wonder About the Savior’s Birth
πͺΆ A gentle thought… not to replace anything, but to consider something beautiful.
Today, many of us remember April 6 as the birth of Jesus Christ.
That date carries meaning. It’s part of our tradition. It connects to the Restoration.
And honestly… there is something good in that.
But over this past year, as I’ve slowed down…
as I’ve sat more quietly with the scriptures…
and tried to feel rather than just accept…
another possibility has opened up.
Not as a replacement…
but as something to ponder.
π A Different Possibility
Some have suggested that Christ may have been born… not in the spring…
…but in the fall.
Specifically around September 11, 3 BC —
the time of the Feast of Trumpets.
Now, I’m not saying this has to be true.
But when you begin to look at the scriptures…
and the patterns God uses…
it starts to feel…
at least worth thinking about.
✨ The Heavens Bear Record
In the book of Revelation, we read:
“A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet…”
(Revelation 12:1)
Some have pointed out that around that time in history…
the constellation Virgo (the virgin)
was clothed with the setting sun…
with the moon at her feet…
Almost like the heavens themselves were telling a story.
Not proving anything…
just… telling a story.
And God has always used the heavens that way.
π The Book of Mormon Witness
What has always struck me more deeply is this:
Samuel the Lamanite said:
“There shall be many signs and wonders in heaven… and a new star shall arise.”
(Helaman 14:5–6)
And then when it happened:
“At the going down of the sun there was no darkness…”
(3 Nephi 1:15)
Just pause there for a second.
π A night without darkness
π A new star
π Signs in the heavens
That’s not just a quiet birth.
That’s heaven and earth…
celebrating together.
π A Simple, Earthly Detail
Luke tells us:
“There were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.”
(Luke 2:8)
That one verse is easy to read past.
But shepherds didn’t typically stay out overnight with their flocks
during the colder, rainy months.
That was more of a fall season pattern.
Again… not proof.
Just… another small piece that fits.
π Patterns in Sacred Records
In the Nemenhah, there are references to:
✨ Signs in the heavens
✨ Lights in the firmament
✨ The sky bearing witness of the Peacemaker
And what I love about that…
is it doesn’t argue.
It simply agrees with a pattern:
π When God does something great…
He often lets creation testify of it.
πΊ The Feast of Trumpets
Now this part is interesting.
The Feast of Trumpets (Tishri 1) was a time of:
π Announcement
π Awakening
π The proclamation of a King
And in Doctrine & Covenants 88 we read of:
“The sound of the trump…”
That same language shows up again and again
when the Lord is introduced…
or returns.
So the thought comes quietly:
π Would it make sense…
that the King of Kings entered the world
on a day meant to announce a King?
⚖️ So What About April 6?
April 6 still matters.
It connects to the Restoration.
It carries meaning for many people.
And I don’t feel any need to tear that down.
Not at all.
This isn’t about replacing one date with another.
It’s about something deeper:
π Are we willing to let the Lord teach us… step by step… even beyond what we’ve always assumed?
πͺ A Thought About Our Time
There’s something else that quietly sits in my heart.
September 11… in our day…
became a day of tragedy.
Smoke. Loss. Fear.
And sometimes I’ve wondered…
(not as a declaration… just a quiet wondering)
π Does the adversary try to cast shadows
on things that once held light?
I don’t know.
But I’ve learned not to ignore patterns anymore.
π️ Where This Leaves Me
This didn’t shake my faith.
It actually softened it.
Because it reminded me of something simple:
π I don’t need to have every detail nailed down
to know the Savior is real.
And maybe…
just maybe…
God leaves a few things open
so we will seek Him instead of certainty.
πΏ Final Thought
Whether it was April…
or September…
or a day we don’t yet understand…
this part hasn’t changed:
π️ He came.
π️ He lived.
π️ He gave everything for us.
And if we’re willing…
He’ll still come into our lives the same way:
Quietly.
Gently.
Without forcing anything.
πͺΆ Just something to think about…
