๐ฟ The Circle Returns
๐ฟ The Circle Returns
Every Choice Comes Home
Hello, my friends.
It's just me again...
...the old man on the porch.
I've been thinking about circles.
Not the kind we draw with a compass.
The kind we live every day.
Long before I ever read the scriptures deeply, and long before I discovered the Nemenhah records, I noticed something about life.
Nothing ever really ends.
It comes back.
Kindness comes back.
Cruelty comes back.
Mercy comes back.
Bitterness comes back.
Everything we send out into the world has a way of finding its way home again.
The older I get, the more convinced I am that heaven built the universe that way.
๐ฑ The Savior taught the principle.
"With what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."
(Matthew 7:2)
What we give...
returns.
Not because God is trying to punish us.
Not because He enjoys rewarding us.
But because love—and truth—are woven into the very fabric of creation.
The universe remembers.
๐ฟ The Nemenhah records describe this beautifully.
They teach that our thoughts, words, and actions do not simply disappear.
They move outward like ripples on a quiet lake.
Then, in time...
the circle returns.
Sometimes it brings joy.
Sometimes it brings sorrow.
But it always teaches.
That is one of the greatest gifts our Father has given us.
Life itself becomes our teacher.
❤️ This changed the way I look at people.
When someone hurts me...
I don't have to become their judge.
The circle is already moving.
When someone blesses my life...
The circle is already moving.
My responsibility isn't to control everyone else's circle.
It's to choose what I place into my own.
Every day.
Every conversation.
Every comment online.
Every act of generosity.
Every quiet prayer.
Every forgiving heart.
Every one begins another circle.
๐ Zion begins right here.
Sometimes we imagine Zion as a great city that will suddenly appear one day.
But maybe Zion begins much smaller.
Maybe it begins when one father chooses patience.
One mother chooses kindness.
One neighbor chooses forgiveness.
One stranger chooses compassion.
Those circles spread farther than we can ever see.
Eventually they begin overlapping.
Then families change.
Communities change.
Nations change.
Perhaps that's how Zion has always been built—not all at once, but one faithful circle at a time.
๐ฟ So what circle am I trying to send into the world?
That's become an important question for me.
If one of these songs encourages someone to forgive...
The circle has already begun.
If one blog helps someone hear the Savior's voice...
The circle has already begun.
If one family chooses peace over contention...
The circle has already begun.
I may never see where those circles end.
But I trust the Lord does.
❤️ A simple invitation
Today...
before speaking...
before posting...
before reacting...
ask yourself one question:
"If this comes back to me someday... will I be grateful I sent it?"
I think that's one of the quiet secrets of building Zion.
Not waiting for someone else to change.
But sending goodness into the world, trusting that the Lord has designed His creation so that love is never lost.
It always finds its way home.
๐ต This blog accompanies my song, "The Circle Returns."
If the music touched your heart, I hope you'll take a few moments to reflect on the principle behind it. My desire is simple: to point hearts to Jesus Christ through songs, stories, scripture, and the eternal principles that build Zion.
Until next time...
Let's keep sending good circles into the world.
