Listen to the New Song of Zion:   No Poor Among Them

The Blueprint of Zion

Hello, my friends.

It's me again...
just the old man from the sticks.

Lately I've been thinking about one little phrase that keeps appearing in sacred records.

"There were no poor among them."

Those six words may describe one of the greatest miracles ever accomplished on this earth.

Not because everyone became wealthy.

But because everyone became family.

๐Ÿก Zion Isn't Built With Money

Sometimes we imagine Zion as a magnificent city.

Beautiful homes.

Perfect government.

Perfect organization.

Perfect people.

But when I read the scriptures, I see something much simpler.

I see neighbors helping neighbors.

Widows remembered.

Children protected.

The hungry fed.

The lonely invited in.

People stopping long enough to notice someone else.

That is where Zion begins.

❤️ The Richest People on Earth

The scriptures never say they became rich.

They say:

"There were no poor among them."

There's a difference.

A community can have millionaires and still have poverty.

Another community may have very little money...

yet no one goes without because everyone shares what they have.

The greatest wealth isn't stored in banks.

It's stored in hearts.

๐ŸŒฑ Stewardship Instead of Ownership

One lesson I keep finding—in both the Book of Mormon and the Nemenhah teachings—is that the earth was never really ours.

It belongs to the Creator.

We are simply caretakers for a little while.

When we begin thinking like stewards instead of owners, everything changes.

Possessions become tools for blessing others.

Homes become places of refuge.

Meals become opportunities to gather.

Land becomes something we care for rather than consume.

๐Ÿค Zion Is Built One Person at a Time

We sometimes wonder how Zion will finally come.

Maybe we're asking the wrong question.

Perhaps Zion doesn't arrive all at once.

Perhaps it grows one family...

one friendship...

one act of kindness...

one forgiven offense...

one shared meal...

one open door at a time.

That feels much more like the Savior's way.

✝️ What Jesus Actually Asked Us To Do

The Savior didn't ask most of us to change the whole world in a day.

He asked us to love God.

Love our neighbor.

Feed His sheep.

Bear one another's burdens.

Forgive.

Serve.

If enough ordinary people quietly begin living those simple principles...

something extraordinary begins to happen.

Heaven slowly touches earth.

๐ŸŽต Why I Wrote This Song

As I studied these principles, this song almost wrote itself.

It isn't really about an ancient civilization.

It isn't even about the future.

It's about today.

It's about asking one simple question:

What can I do today so there is one less lonely person... one less hungry person... one less forgotten person?

Maybe that is how Zion has always been built.

One willing heart at a time.
